Language use of the word "Man"

Is the word man in the bible or in the Quran used only to denote 'ADAM'? It seems most people do not know that it can also be used to denote Humankind or Humans or Human beings or even be used to denote the Collection of men and women.

This problem mainly occurs with Gutter Evangelist who tend to get information from the real genuine places. An example on the argument has been attached.
