LAPSSET tracking

The problem with most of you Tanzanians is when it comes Kenya, most of you tend to fill the logic part of the brain with emotions... Most of your arguments come from the emotional part of the brain, you end up assuming everyone else who is not kenyan feels same way,

As for your question. SS has been trying to find an alternative route since day one when they gained independence.

Ethiopia is too big and very populated, some of their investments are not only economic but strategic, and yes, they can afford two railways

And as for Somalia, Kenya requested the UNCLOS to allow her to extend her Exclusive Economic maritime zone , and guess what? The UN allowed us to add more than 100,000 square kilometers of sea! to fish, explore, protect, deny anyone else from exploring it... This is the same UN that you expect to take Kenya's waters and give them to Somalia?
Hehe, utangoja sana

That's even more stupid. China build their own exclusive port for their own exclusive minerals

Not getting your point, you need to discuss this on economic perspective, not from political view

What about Dar port which is much closer to Zambia and South Tz?
Dar port currently handles the massive zambian copper mineral exports, apart from Taxes, their is also service charge paid to port for handling all the import/export services earning more revenue.
Then here comes the exclusive Chinese/Omani port basically paying itself for the services its doing to export these minerals... Do you think the so called 'Tanzania ya viwanda' will exist in such an arrangement where China/oman control the mineral+port. Even if they were to build an industrial zone to process some of these mineral within Tz, they will still export most of these minerals as raw materials, Thats why they need such big heavy ships to be able to dock at Bagamoyo, cause finished products don't need that much deadweight.

First am very surprised, I am the one who started questioning about viability of Lamu port, and I stated reasons to show how Lamu port is not economical, you haven't answered any of my points, should I assume that you have accepted all what I have said, now we can change topic to Bagamoyo port?

Maybe this so called killer assumption is on your part as as such, you are only bound to get butthurt! Your whole argument is based on prayers that SS be at war forever ad Ethiopia be broke...poor you!
Even without imports from abroad, SS imports products worth $300m from Kenya, eve with the war!

And then which Ethiopia are you calling broke? The one that has built a $300 light rail, $6Billion dam, $4Billion Rail, $600Milion expressway, a $2billion industrial zone ALL at the same time! and still maintained an avg double digit growth inn GDP!! That is the Ethiopia you are caing broke>??? hehe If thats you definition of too broke then Kenya is too broke to even build the so called Lapsset white elephant in the first place.

With the current GDP and population growth Ethipia is experiencing + the masive development projects, Ethiopia wont last a decade b4 their rail to Djibouti becomes overloaded..

Your so called "comfortable prediction" is already falling apart even before Lamu port construction is completed, After the completion of the lapsset highway from Isiolo to Moyale, truckloads already lined up at the border each day all the way from Mombasa port which is more efficient than Djibouti port, hehe Utajiju

Moyale border

During the recent drought season, Imported food was delayed at the dgibouti port, Et decided to use Msa port instead

Et plan is o have two major railways

And incase you were not aware, lapsset doesnt intend to just end in Et and SS, Et ans SS are just the first step, this is h ultimate prize, To render the Suez canal irrelevant!

kafrican you arguing with a short sighted bird brain from a country whose major project post independence is a 500m bridge and can't comprehend what big infrastructural projects mean for any sane country with a vision for it's people in the present and future.
A country or even an individual can easily take a loan as long as it is an investment oriented venture and I think Ethiopia and Kenya are on the right track concerning the LAPSSET .

But IMF has given Kenya warning on too much borrowing, is IMF also wrong?, majority of Kenyans high ranked economists are crying on the same issue, are they too wrong?, it is only you with some few kikuyu because you are looking this situation through tribal eyes who see everything is ok, but remember, IMF and WB are biggest financial institution on the global, if you can't listen to them, no country can give you loan.

Port Djibouti is in expansion spree to be largest in Africa while Somaliland is building a port too! What u see here is desperation from Kenyans! After losing pipeline no hope remains [emoji23] [emoji115]! Prof. Ndii usually talks on this kangaroo approach as lame n not foresighted!

Mind u these r the same people I found boasting about Kenya mightiness time I joined JF! Only for me to start mentioning their forgotten Northern. The likes of Nairoberry n Smatta used to attack me day n night till my prediction on them losing pipeline became true. For their information that place need 40 years of investment to even be economic meaningful.

Museveni quietly built his roads to Juba longtime ago n since they want to steal his business, he has also decided to look for an alternative route to overseas. And guess who is the main beneficiary of all these? Magufuli ofcourse.

You are correct, desperation indeed, if even IMF which gives them money they don't like to accept its advices, then we can easily say it is a last kick of dying donkey[emoji1] [emoji1]

And they usually suit their ego with their claiming to be aggressive just like KQ or Nakumatt or Uchumi or Deacon were expanding brainless! [emoji23] [emoji115]

Kafrican ati plans have been drawn up to build 1500 miles of Railway from Addis Ababa to Lamu? Bring evidence on that plus link to Douala! Fool keep dreaming [emoji28][emoji115] !

Plans to link the northern corridor and the LAPSSET in the works for them to complement each other.
Lapsset Corridor will connect Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan through highways, railway as well as a crude oil pipeline to Turkana and a refined petroleum products pipeline. The corridor will also include resort cities and airports.
The corridor will provide jobs to half a million people residing in Lamu which is also expected to be a city 1 million people.

So far so good, the dream is becoming a reality as the first 3 berths of the 32 become operational mid next year(2018).

Managing that triangle did not mean taking sovereignty of that economic zone. U just stole Somali territory! A reason Al Shaababs will haunt u to death.

Source? Kenyan media that also said Uganda pipeline will go to Lamu [emoji23] [emoji115] ! Magufuli is finyaring u guys..

Which country between Kenya and Ethiopia shall pay for the railway from Ethiopia to Lamu, do you have any signed commitment for all those plans you talk about, remember pipeline from Uganda to Lamu was also suppose to go through Lamu, likewise Rwanda was sppose to connect its SGR to Mombasa, but it were wishes only without any commitment, all vanished you are counting loses now[emoji31] [emoji31]

Am eagerly waiting for its first 3 berths next year. Will be another milestone after the Thika superhighway and the SGR.

I hadn't noticed that this thread was started way back in 2013 August 4 by a certain frothing imbecile, 4 years later the LAPSSET project on schedule with it's first 3 berths ready and operational mid next year. Was just wondering what has HIS COUNTRY DONE IN THE PAST FOUR FUCKIN YEARS ?? Isiolo moyale highway complete,
SGR Nairobi Mombasa complete and operational,
KQ granted direct flights to the US of A,
Tatu City already in progress(pictures on JF),
Galana Kulalu up and running harvested more than 100,000 bags of Maize,
Kisumu oil jetty,
Port Reitz in Mombasa complete and still undergoing expansion,
Outering road nearly similar to Thika superhighway nearly complete,
Dongo Kundu in pictures hapa JF for all to see etc etc etc.

Bombardier siezed in Canada,
Tanga Bagamoyo port evaporates into thin air...whitest elephant,
SGR most likely another whiter elephant,
Pipeline Hoima to Tanga/Dar foundation stones are laid on a daily basis,
Dar port expansion to take place only on political rallies to mesmerise the illiterate masses,
Port bell to be expanded by the same who are unable to construct their own(a bunch of BS),
500m kigamboni bridge completed(Hahahaha),
BRT completed(congratulations).
