Diageo PLC, producer of Meta Abo, Zemen Beer and Malta Guinness non-alcoholic beer brands, begins a 780 million Birr expansion project, according to Addis Fortune.

The expansion was needed because the company wants to increase its production capacity from 1.7 million hectoliters to four million hectoliters per year. It has received an expansion license from Ethiopian Investment Commission in July 15, 2015.

The expansion project is taking place at the factory’s site in Sebeta, 25 km south-west of Addis Ababa.
Diageo has acquired Meta Abo Brewery from the Privatization and Public Enterprises Supervising Agency (PPESA) in 2013 by 225 million dollars.

Diageo, Britain based Beverage Company, entered markets of 180 countries. It has brands in beer, wine and liquor, including Guinness Beer, Johnnie Walker (Whiskey) as well as Smirnoff (Vodka).

Diageo also own East Africa Breweries Ltd just like SAB Miller owns Tanzania Breweries? I don't quite get the intended point here.

Even though Ellen DeGeneres turned 60 in January, the talk-show host kept the birthday celebration going last week by traveling to Africa with wife Portia De Rossi.

The trip was a special one for the couple. In February, de Rossi surprised DeGeneres byrevealing she had set up The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund—a foundation that supports global conservation efforts for critically endangered species. The foundation's first initiative is building a permanent home for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. During their trip, the spouses visited Dr. Tara Stoinski, president of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, in Rwanda and spent some quality time with the animals.

"Today is here! We're landing in Rwanda to go look at the gorillas and to go help them and build a campus," DeGeneres said in a video of the couple flying into Rwanda. She also posted photos of the trio out in the field and a few up-close shots of her observing the primates.

"I can't begin to describe what this experience was like or how much it means to me," DeGeneres captioned a video of a gorilla. "I'm so grateful."

She also wrote that "spending time with these gorillas changed my life."

However, the gorillas weren't the only animals they saw during the trip. DeGeneres and de Rossi also hung out with a few elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya.

In addition, they saw animals during their safari in Tanzania and brunched with a few giraffes while staying at Giraffe Manor in Kenya.

The trip was clearly a special one for DeGeneres.

"This was a trip I've been waiting my whole life to make," part of a caption read alongside a photo of her and de Rossi.

Of course, de Rossi knew the trip would be a dream come true for DeGeneres. After theArrested Development star gifted her the Fund and trip in February, DeGeneres broke into tears.

"That is the best gift anyone could have given me," DeGeneres said at the time.

Luckily, Kristen Bell was able to fill in for DeGeneres while she was on her trip.

The organization has already received support from the couple's famous friends. In May, Ashton Kutcher donated $4 million to The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund

The fact that she did not visit Masai Mara proves that Kenya is NOT a 'one trick pony'.
Unlike a certain LDC where every visitor has to check into the Serengeti to prove he/she was there, Kenya has many attractions.
Tourists are spoilt for choice.

we have beaten u in Tourism long time ago n is happening without direct connection to overseas, get the picture when Air Tanzania flies overseas!

You may not know this but most tourists in Kenya do not necessarily arrive via Kenya Airways.
If you think Air Tanzania and its 2 Bombardiers plus its flight to Mumbai will change the status quo, boy are you wrong.

so those other airlines dont land in Tanzania? Stop being stupid!

so those other airlines dont land in Tanzania? Stop being stupid!

Most don't actually.
And JKIA is the regional hub. Not because of big or modern terminus. Or modern runways, but because of the volume it brings to the likes of British Airways, Air France etc.
No point flying a plane to Tanzania if it will always be quarter full.
And before you mention tourist numbers, much more passengers arrive in Nairobi on other visas (not tourist visas) than your LDC country.
Nairobi is the centre of commerce in this region.

For your info. JKIA handles over 7 million passengers, but only less than 2 million are counted as tourists.
