ndipo walipojikwaa toyota!kukimbizana na GM kutengeneza magari kama baiskeli wakati wao GM wana brands lukuki, they eventually became the first manufacturers,BUT at what costs?!QUALITY.
TOYOTA quality has came down significantly from it's 1990-2002 peak.Power is a very bad thing, after they had GM sights they were blind to many things just to get that elusive title,BIGGEST car manufacturers.now it's payback time.
The original toyota's were all made by Japanese suppliers(who are well known for their craftsmanship,BUT after 1990's Toyota began an insane push to globalize it's supply chain.now you have a toyota car with parts made all over the world!
and what most people do not know is that most ASEAN,AFRICA Toyota's are assembled by OEM factories in China.
si kweli kuwa magari ya Toyota yote ni bei rahisi,Toyota's are consumer cars,so their prices are to be expected in that level.Kuna kitu muhimu katika uutofauti wa Toyota(japanesse) car makers na US-EU car makers.Japanese car makers wana temporary replacable parts nyingi, that means servicing charges zake ni kubwa/ghali.Most japanese cars needs replacing timing belts etc after X Miles, something US carmakers don't have.ofcourse iif you have a well built car this will be invisible costwise, but if you have a lemon,oh dear..,service kila siku.fundi gereji wako lazima awe kwenye fast dial yako.
kwa hiyo Toyota's are cheap upfroant but expensive if you consider total cost of ownership, especially compare to EUROPEAN cars.be educated do not generalize.
We all know what went wrong in US,Wall street tried to run everything with their poor practices and everlasting bonuses.
viwanda kama viwanda are very good and extremely high tech, tatizo cost ya gari inakuwa distributed from marketing to cost of labor, salaries bonuses etc.sasa hapo Japanese ndio wanapowashinda kina US.
You are very wrong,Toyota is good but they are not dominating everywhere, in China(1st car consumers in the world). Toyota is lagging behind EUROPEAN makers VW and Ford,GM and Chinese car local makers.their image is not as bright as that of other Japanese makers(Mazda & Nissan).
in South east Asia Mitsubishi has a far better image and image than most Japanese markets,
In Europe we all know, damn EUROS only buy theirs,it's all about Fiat,BMW,Mercedes and VW there.
What Toyota has done was successfully capture the US market(the biggest whistle blowers and extremely dominating Japan and Africa,as well as taking a decent pie somewhere else.with the current market dynamics, who sells well in china gets to be the best. VW are well position(actually they are the leading manufacturers now-after Porsche),they are doing very well in EU and china,i must say a recipe for success in the coming 20 years.
this can be true, the issue is blown out of proportions BUT TOYOTA played a HUGE part in this.they knew about the issue and they ignored it.i even said something here back in November/december that Toyota is sitting in a bombshell.as usual nobody took notice because Tanzanians are blindly in love with their Toyota's( can't wait till they start buying their 2006-2009 models in used car markets and discovered the cars are a not as good.)
they are doing pretty good here, reason being they are the only cars we can genuinely afford.EUROPEAN cars are expensive upfront and last forever with no need to see the service guys every other month.
American are LHD and so are Chinese(thank god tungekuwa jalala, kama walivyofanya kwenye simu and electronics).
So japanese are the only viable option for most people. And i believe total cars running Tanzania Road are less than 2 milion, that figure does not quite excite any company to come and open up it's market to us,if they can't even sell 10,000 cars monthly!
Magari ya kimarekani ni LHD sisi tunatumia RHD,ndio sababu kuu huyaoni barabarani,We had Japanese makers by chance not by choice.we used to have more european cars back in the 70's-80's but then we cam eto dicover cheap Toyota's that were just as good for the money.
here is a little bonus for your eyes..,a picture tells a thousand words they say.
