THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT YEAR B

FIRST READING
“Behold, a virgin shall conceive.”
ISAIAH 7: 10 - 14

In those days: The Lord spoke to Ahaz, “Ask a sign of the Lord your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, and I will not put the Lord to the test.” And he said, “Hear then, O house of David! I sit too little for you to weary men, that you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God is with us].”

The Word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 24: 1 - 2, 3 - 4ab, 5 - 6 (R.) 7c, 10c

R/. Let the Lord enter; he is the king of glory.

The Lord’s is the earth and its fullness,
the world, and all who dwell in it.
It is he who set it on the seas;
on the rivers he made it firm. R/.

Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who shall stand in his holy place?
The clean of hands and pure of heart,
whose soul is not set on vain things. R/.

Blessings from the Lord shall he receive,
And right reward from the God who saves him.
Such are the people who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. R/.

ALLELUIA

Alleluia. Alleluia.
O Key of David! You open the gates of the eternal Kingdom: come and lead us out of the prison where we sit in darkness.
Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“You will conceive in your womb and bear a son.”
LUKE 1: 26 - 38

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!” But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.” And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I know not man?” And the angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon, you, and the power of the Most High will over shadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

*️⃣Don't wait for someone else to do what God told you to do.

*️⃣You will feel the pain of not fulfilling your calling both here on earth and in eternity; it is a pain that will never go away.

*️⃣One of the things you must make up your mind to do is to be very serious with your Christianity.

*️⃣In these final hours of the last days, before the Master shows up, you shouldn’t be the one to treat spiritual things with any form of laxity or irreverence.

*️⃣Don’t play games with the Lord!

*️⃣Life isn’t about your personal dreams, plans, aspirations or ambitions.

*️⃣The Bible says, “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness” (2 Peter 3:11).

*️⃣It makes no difference what beautiful structures you see in this world or the earthly fulfilment of men; everything shall be destroyed.

📖 Luke 9:62 TLB Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.

*️⃣Never take the Gospel of Christ lightly.

*️⃣Your priority should be: Jesus first, and everything else afterwards.

*️⃣Many have lived and died without actuating their potential or fulfilling God’s dream for them; many have died without becoming what He wanted them to be. Nothing could be more miserable than that!

*️⃣How would you feel if, at the judgment seat of Christ, you’re shown everything you could have been, and the possibilities you could have fulfilled but that were never actuated?

*️⃣At the Judgment, some are going to see all that they were meant to be that they never became, all they could have said that they never said, and all they could have done that they never did.

*️⃣When you face Jesus, He’s going to ask you: “What did you do with the assignment I gave you? Did you do my work?”

*️⃣Therefore, finish well; finish strong.

*️⃣Don’t be distracted.

*️⃣Make up your mind you’d be everything God has chosen you to be.

*️⃣Refuse to allow anything distract you from serving Him and living for Him as you should.

*️⃣Be about His business, doing that work which He planned for you before the foundations of the earth.

*️⃣Like the Master Himself, let your goal, your inspiration and driving force, be to do the will of Him that sent you, and to finish His work.

*️⃣Prove your love for the Master; do the things He’s asked you to do.

*️⃣Give Him your love; give Him your heart, and He’ll give you such fulfilment that you could never know otherwise.

*️⃣Get excited about serving Him and living for Him; and everything else will fall into place.

📖2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:

📖Colossians 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

📖Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.

*️⃣May the Father help you live to your fullest potential and fulfil your destiny and calling in Christ.

*️⃣Run your race swiftly, pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, under the inspiration of God's Spirit and guidance of His Word.

*️⃣Learn about the real you through the Word and stand up to be what the Word has described you to be: one with limitless possibilities and ability to do more and be more.

*️⃣Trust the Holy Spirit to help you see and live to your fullest potential and fulfil your destiny and calling in Christ.

The problem I have with this document is an attempt to sequester a person from his beliefs and deeds.

If this is canonical then why don't we bless Lucifer because he too is a child of God?

We can separate Satan from his activities and bless him.

This analogy the Church will never answer to our satisfaction.

We can call sinners to repentance but we cannot bless them simply because they are sons of God. Satan too is said to be the son of God in Job chapter 1 and 2.

In Mathew 5 Our Lord Christ Jesus the Amen showed us whom to bless, and sinners were not in that list.

We need to be shown in the Bible how we can bless sodomites

THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT YEAR B

FIRST READING
Behold, my beloved comes leaping upon the mountains.
SONG OF SOLOMON 2: 8 - 14

The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes, leaping upon the mountains, bounding over the hills. My beloved is like a gazelle, or a young stag. Behold, there he stands behind our wall, gazing in at the windows, looking through the lattice. My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my dove, my fair one, and come away; for behold, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of pruning has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth its figs; and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the covert of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is comely.”

The Word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 33: 2 - 3, 11 - 12, 20 - 21 (R.) 1a, 3a

R/. Ring out your joy to the Lord, O you just; O sing him a song that is new.

Give thanks to the Lord upon the harp;
with a ten-stringed lute sing him songs.
O sing him a song that is new;
Play skilfully, with shouts of joy. R/.

The designs of the Lord stand forever,
the plans of his heart from age to age.
Blessed the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he has chosen as his heritage. R/.

Our soul is waiting for the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.
In him do our hearts find joy.
We trust in his holy name. R/.

ALLELUIA

Alleluia. Alleluia.
O Emmanuel, our King and Law giver! Come and save us, O Lord our God.
Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“Why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?”
LUKE 1: 39 - 45

In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the child leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the child in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

Saudi Arabia job opportunities could be a trap to our people

Modern slave trade. During the old slave trade, men were castrated in Arab countries so that they may not reproduce with African and / or Arab women. Opting for women nurses is a reminder Arabs have not changed

Kenyan experience has shown rampant abuses of human rights, including beatings, abductions, and harvesting of human organs. At least 20 known cases of Kenyans in Saudi Arabia were brought back in coffins.

Saudi Arabia is using landmines to kill and maim African illegal immigrants, mostly Ethiopians.

So, this matter could be an opportunity wrapped in a Pandora box
