last year Nairobi collected 11 billion KES = 248 billion TZS
Mombasa 4 Billion = 90 Billion TZS
Nakuru 3 billion KES = TZS 67 Billion
Kiambu 2 billion Kes = 45 billion TZS

combine all the dar municipalities it doesnt come close to mombasa..yet dar has a pop of 6 million

List of counties with the highest and lowest revenue collection

Kenya's Nairobi County collected the highest amount of revenue in the 2016/2017 financial year,a new report shows.


According to the Annual County Governments Budget Implementation Review Report, released by the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA), Nairobi raised Sh10 billion, followed by Mombasa and Kiambu at Sh3.17 and and Sh2.03 billion respectively.

"During the period under review, the Nairobi City County generated the highest amount of local revenue at Kshs.10.93 billion, followed by Mombasa and Kiambu at Kshs.3.17 billion and Kshs.2.03 billion respectively,"stated the report.
On the other hand, Wajir, Mandera and Tana River were among the counties that generated the lowest amount at Kshs.75.91 million, Kshs.55.84 million and Kshs.27.42 million respectively.
Marsabit and Turkana Counties were the counties that surpassed the proportion of local revenue against annual targets at 107.3 per cent and 103.5 per cent respectively.
This was a stark contrast from the five counties that recorded the lowest proportion of local revenue against annual targets. They included Kisii (37.5%), Wajir (33%), Garissa (23.4%) and Mandera(21%).
The report comes at a time when the Controller of National Budget Agnes Odhiambo wants 43 counties probed for accumulating Sh35 billion debt.
Mrs. Odhiambo in the 2016/17 implementation annual report recommended that the pending bills should be audited by the Auditor General to ascertain their validity.

1. Nairobi: Sh10.9 billion
2. Mombasa: Sh3.2 billion
3. Kiambu: Sh2.0 billion
4. Nakuru: Sh1.5 billion
5. Machakos: Sh1.3 billion

1. Tharaka Nithi: Sh78 billion
2. Lamu: Sh0.76 billion
3. Wajir: Sh0.75 billion
4. Mandera: Sh0.55 billion
5. Tana River: Sh0.27 billion

Waziri wa Nchi Ofisi ya Rais - TAMISEMI, Selemani Jafo, Leo Jiji i Dodoma amewasilisha Taarifa ya Ukusanyaji wa mapato kwa Halmashauri zote nchini ya mwaka 2017/2018. Jafo amesema umefika wakati sasa wa kubadilisha utaratibu wa kuainisha Halmashauri zilizofanya vizuri nchini kwenye ukusanyaji wa mapato kama ambavyo inafanyika kwenye matokeo ya mitihani ya NECTA.

Jafo alisema kuwa, baada ya Bank Reconciliation, Halmashauri zimepangwa kulingana na ubora wake wa ukusanyaji mapato. Takwimu zinaonyesha kuwa, makusanyo ya Halmashauri zote nchini kwa mwaka 2017/2018 yalikuwa ni asilimia 81% ya lengo nchini la kukusanya bilioni 687.

1: Dodoma - bilioni 25 kati ya lengo la bilioni 19 (180%).

Jiji la mwisho:
Mbeya - bilioni 7.8 kati ya lengo la bilioni 11.10 (71%).
