In layman terms, a bridge basically extends the layer 2 network segment while a router demarcated one segment from another on layer 3. From experience, you can configure most small wireless routers to be bridge but not many bridges have the option to be configured as routers.

Ushauri wangu, kama unataka hiyo iPad iweze kuonekana na kushirikiana na LAN yako then get a normal wifi router (negear, dlink or linksys) configure it as a repeater (bridge) then connect it's WAN port to one of the ports in your Current switch serving the LAN I.e extend the current LAN.

Lakini Kama Hutaki watumiaji wa wireless waweze kuona computer za LAN, configure hiyo wireless router in routing mode with dhcp enabled (these configs are normally default). This will segment the current LAN from Wifi. Lakini one can easily bypass and access LAN akiweka effort kidogo.
