A bar attendant in Meru town on Saturday stabbed her lover of two years after the man bought his friends beer.
Faith Kanario, 28, stabbed Samuel Mburu four times, twice on the back, and on the stomach and chest.
The Meru Muslim Day secondary school teacher is said to have walked with the woman into the bar earlier in the day.
"They were holding hands when they walked into the Castella Bar," a witness said at the scene.
Another witness said the lady must have been hurt after her boyfriend bought drinks for his friends.
"The man fell down after he attempted to flee from the woman. They were drinking upstairs."
Kanairo, who has been staying with the man for nearly two years, was arrested and is in custody at the Meru police station.
Meru county police commander Nelson Taliti said they have launched investigations into the incident.
The body was taken to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
On September 26, 2017, Taliti asked residents to use dialogue to resolve land and domestic disputes.
He said land and other domestic disputes have escalated families rivalry, leading to murders or suicides.
"In the last four weeks, five people have been murdered and three have committed suicide after quarrels over land," he told journalists.
