TFF yawaonya watakaopanga matokeo

Kocha Morani adai joto limewaponza

Kenny: Rebuilding will continue

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish says owners Fenway Sports Group are fully committed to continuing the rebuilding job at Anfield in the summer.

JANUARY TRANSFERS

PHOTOS AND VIDEO

FSG broke the club's transfer record with the £35million purchase of Newcastle striker Andy Carroll, having already secured a £22.8million deal to bring in Ajax forward Luis Suarez.
The £50million sale of Fernando Torres and the £6million brought in by Ryan Babel's transfer to Hoffenheim means the net spend in January was only £1.8million.
It would have been more had they managed to convince Blackpool to part with captain Charlie Adam.
However, Dalglish - whose chances of getting the manager's job on a full-time basis at the end of the season appear to have been boosted by the significant transfer outlay - believes there will further strengthening in the summer.
"The owners have been fantastically supportive during this window, which was busy but I think very beneficial to the football club," said the Scot.
"In fact they may be slightly disappointed they didn't get someone else.
"Anyone who had any doubts about hunger or anybody taking this club forward, they're gone now. In the summer we'll be looking forward to trying to enhance what we've got."

Good luck pulling Johnson away from City. He is too important to the project. They need him to stayin the top 4 and succeed in the CL next season. They got two good strikers now they need Macheda, Diouf, Pato or pedro leon and have them play more than they are playing for their current clubs and in a couple years you are set.

Rooney focus on grabbing more goals

Wayne Rooney does not intend to be deflected from the goal trail after beginning to answer Sir Alex Ferguson's call to reach double figures for Manchester United this season.
Rooney had just three to his name - two of which were penalties - prior to tonight's Barclays Premier League victory over Aston Villa.
It took the England star just 50 seconds to add to his haul with a fine finish, before tapping home another in first-half injury-time as United recorded a 3-1 win that kept them in charge of the title race and extended their unbeaten run to a club record-equalling 29 league games.

Nemanja Vidic also scored with a superb effort, while Darren Bent scored his second goal since joining Villa.
"I have been happy with my play but obviously I want to score," said Rooney.
"As a striker you want to score goals but I have been happy with my performances, apart from the Blackpool match last week when I just couldn't get back into the game.
"I am delighted to have scored and hopefully I can go on a run now and help the team to win games."
Rooney was honest enough to hand out the credit to Edwin van der Sar for his punt forward that created his first, and a brilliant Nani cross that left him with the simplest of finishes for his second.
"I have had a few chances off Edwin," he said.
"It is something we have been trying for the past few years. It was a great ball by him and thankfully I was able to put it away.
"It was also a great ball from Nani. That is something he can do really well and it would be great to see him do more of it.
"He has got great dribbling skills but he is also a great crosser of a ball. If he mixes that up he will be really difficult for defenders to mark."
It leaves United on top of the table, although Rooney is expecting a stiffer challenge from Chelsea, who remain 10 points adrift but have been reinforced by their £70million outlay on Fernando Torres and David Luiz.
"We certainly haven't written Chelsea off," he said.
"They are a big, strong side and we know if anyone is capable of going on a good run then it is them.
"But we know it is up to us where the title goes and hopefully we can win it back."

Villa boss Gerard Houllier acknowledged his side had unwittingly provided Rooney with a helping hand on his way back to form.
"Wayne Rooney was the difference today. He was awesome," said the Frenchman.
"But we have helped his confidence. What he needed was a goal. We gave him one. He took it very well."
United remain five points ahead of Arsenal. But with Rooney now rediscovering his goalscoring touch, Houllier is expecting more of the Red Devils.
"They have managed to win a lot of games and remain unbeaten without him," he said.
"With him, wow.
"He was on top of his game today. He had everything. He can control, turn, twist, play the pass. He defends, he works hard. It was an example for what kids should do. The workrate and link play. Everything."
Houllier will get no argument from Sir Alex Ferguson, who was also delighted with Vidic's superb strike, which ensured United were able to claim the win after a nervy period around Bent's goal at the start of the second-half.
"I have not seen too many like that from Nemanja," he said.
"It was a fantastic finish. He got the first header and knocked it down for Wayne, who teed it up for him. It was a great strike at a very important time.
"They had scored the goal to make it 2-1 but we responded right away to really kill the game."
It was also confirmed that Ferguson has included injury-striken star Owen Hargreaves in his 25-man squad for the remainder of the Premier League campaign, having opted to make Anders Lindegaard his only purchase of a frantic January transfer window.
"Obviously the Darren Bent transfer sparked these escalating fees," observed Alex Ferguson.
"People were saying if Darren Bent is worth £24million, my player is worth £24million-plus. It created a chain reaction right throughout the country."

Well done Rooney. Only a very special talent can triple the number of goals he has scored, in all competitions, in the last 9 months in just one match.
No wonder they pay him so handsomely.
If only the owners, manager and other Man Utd players could match his talent and ambition.

Rooney has deserved the scrunity. Somehow SAF gets the team to come through no matter who is playing: Berbatov, Nani, Park, Chicharito and many others put in that one cruical goal to get the three points. United are amaizing this year. With the squad and the injuries I didn't think they would be unbeaten and on top of the league right now. Almost making me forget my anger about how Teves was treated.

All you nay-sayers are morons. Yes, Rooney is not scoring as many goals as he did last year. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN HE IS NOT PLAYING WELL! he is setting up others while constantly demanding the ball. HIS ONLY BAD GAME WAS AGAINST BLACKPOOL. I really like watching Chicha play as well but this is his first season, he WILL get burned out if he plays ALL the time. He is adjust very nicely but let's be real FIRST YEAR IN THE EPL DOESNT PROVE ANYTHING...Remember Ronaldo? How about Nani?(even though I'm still not a hige fan of his). Let's just hope and pray Chicha can keep it going for a long time. BUT EVERY PLAYER GOES THROUGH A "SPLUMP". So if you are true United fan, stop being for f'ing fair-weathered.

Arsenal 2-1 Everton

Updated Feb 1, 2011 7:46 PM ET
Arsenal came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 at Emirates Stadium and stay in striking distance of leaders Manchester United on Tuesday night.
Louis Saha had put the visitors ahead on 24 minutes when he slotted home, despite being clearly offside.
However, the Gunners turned the game around through substitute Andrey Arshavin and Laurent Koscielny's header.

The Gunners made some 10 changes from the side which had laboured to a 2-1 win over Huddersfield in the FA Cup here on Sunday.
And it was Everton - who have lost only six games, but find themselves in the lower half of the table because of some 12 draws - who started brightly.
With Diniyar Bilyaletdinov offering support to both Saha in attack and then making up the numbers in midfield, it was easy to see why David Moyes' men are hard to beat.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was in the referee's book after just five minutes when he clattered through the back of Mikel Arteta, which would set a trend for the evening.
Everton continued to make all the running during the opening exchanges.
Arsenal finally got some passing together as Bacary Sagna was played in down the right, only to be chopped down by Sylvain Distin who was immediately shown a yellow card by Lee Mason.
Koscielny glanced a header through the six-yard box from a corner, before Cesc Fabregas then dragged a shot wide after a clever backheel from Robin van Persie.
The Gunners were now on top, but just lacked a decisive pass when in the final third.
Theo Walcott broke into the right side of the penalty area, but Tim Howard stood up well at the near post.
Everton, though, were ahead on 24 minutes in controversial fashion.
Saha was offside when Seamus Coleman chipped the ball through, but it spun off Koscielny's boot as he attempted to clear, falling to the Frenchman who slotted a low effort past Wojciech Szczesny.
Despite the protests of the Arsenal players, and consultation with his assistant Stephen Child on the far side, referee Mason allowed the goal to stand.
Arsenal felt more than a sense of injustice and centre-half Koscielny almost made amends when inches away from converting a corner with a diving header at the far post.

The frustration for the home fans continued after Fabregas burst into the Everton box only to drag his shot wide.
Van Persie then did brilliantly to collect a high, angled pass on his chest, but it would not drop and he could only loop the ball over.
Arsenal made a change at the restart, with Abou Diaby replacing Alex Song, who appeared to pick up an injury towards the end of the first half.
Rosicky spun away from his marker and charged forwards, but then dragged a 20-yard strike wide.
The home side continued to press, Diaby powering a header over the bar.
Arteta then went into the book after tripping Fabregas as the Arsenal captain set off on a quick break.
There was then a confrontation when van Persie went in on the Spaniard, and was also shown a yellow card by busy referee.
With 28 minutes left, Tomas Rosicky was replaced by Arshavin and Everton then sent Leon Osman on for Bilyaletdinov.
Diaby cut inside from the left and set himself, but then drilled his 20-yard shot wide.
Arsenal were finally level when Arshavin slotted home after Rodwell's backheader from Fabregas' chip fell to him in the six-yard box.
Osman tripped Walcott in full flow, and became the seventh man in Mason's notebook.
Van Persie sent the resulting free-kick towards the top right angle, which Howard did brilliantly to tip over.
Arsenal, though, were not to be denied and turned the game around when Koscielny headed home from the resulting corner on 75 minutes.
Rodwell glanced a header wide at the far post, but it was Arsenal who closed out the match and collected what could be three crucial points in the title race.

Terry: Blues buzzing right now

Chelsea skipper John Terry has revealed that the dressing room is "buzzing" after the arrivals of Fernando Torres and David Luiz at the club.
The Spanish striker and Brazilian defender arrived at Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day for a combined fee of around £75million from Liverpool and Benfica respectively to signal Chelsea's determination to get back in the title race.

The goings-on off the pitch seemed to have the desired effect on the field, with the Blues battling to win 4-2 at Sunderland on Tuesday without the presence of their two newest recruits, with Terry grabbing the third.
It was a much-needed statement of intent by the Blues, who had fallen off the pace in the Premier League and had not seen the kind of investment from Roman Abramovich in recent times that became synonomous with the club.
It was Chelsea's biggest splurge in the market since 2006; something Terry feels has boosted morale and sent a message to the rest of the footballing world that they mean business, both domestically and in Europe.
"To sign Torres and Luiz is a huge statement for the club," Terry told the London Evening Standard.
"It has let everyone know we're in the market again, we're buying and competing with Manchester City, who have been spending an awful lot.
"There is a buzz around the camp and it is great that we're in the market again for two massive signings.
"Everyone has been going on about the ageing players and we have just brought in two very young players who are hopefully going to be around the club for a long time. They can bring so much going forward and defensively.

"No-one is getting too carried away but everyone is upbeat. There is a spring in our step, there is a boost around the club worldwide, not just England. It sets a massive tone.
"From a club point of view, reading things like the Bolton quotes that they didn't fear Chelsea no more - we say don't fear us at your peril."
"Everyone is fighting for places with some big games coming up. For myself, for the other defenders and the strikers it is very good competition and that's very important at a big club. It gives the manager great options and very difficult ones at that.
"You want to get training and playing with these guys and hopefully stay in the team."
Commenting on Torres, Terry was happy to see the player on the same side as him, after the Spaniard scored seven goals in seven games against Chelsea whilst on Merseyside, including one on his home debut in 2007.
"I'm delighted Fernando is on the same side. We have had some great battles. I was very impressed when he made his debut against us and scored," Terry added.
"He is one of the strongest out there. His pace is frightening, his heading is unbelievable for his height and his finishing is top drawer, as we have seen against us a few times.
"I'm just delighted [we've signed him] because there were rumours that a few other clubs had been chasing him."

Fabregas won't face FA action

Cesc Fabregas is in the clear after referee Lee Mason made no special mention of the Arsenal captain's behaviour against Eveton on Tuesday.
Everton boss David Moyes suggested Fabregas should have been red-carded for comments the Toffees boss claimed he made to match officials in the tunnel at half-time on Tuesday night.
Home manager Arsene Wenger denied Fabregas had even spoken to the officials, stressing it was he and not the Spanish midfielder who had his say at the interval.

And the FA have confirmed they received no extraordinary incident report from referee Lee Mason of any confrontation involving Fabregas.
Fabregas has no doubt Arsenal's battling 2-1 victory over Everton proves they have the character needed to push Manchester United all the way in the race for the Premier League title.
The Gunners rallied after going behind to what looked an offside effort from Louis Saha to net twice in the space of five minutes during the second half.
Victory kept them five points behind Manchester United, who extended their unbeaten run this season to 24 league matches after a 3-1 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
Wenger praised his team's new-found resilience as they chalked up a six successive win, achieved without 14-goal midfielder Samir Nasri who will be sidelined for three weeks with a hamstring injury and so miss the first leg of the Champions League clash against Barcelona.
And Fabregas is confident Arsenal have what it takes to last the distance.
"We were not up for it at the start against Everton and we were very sloppy. We know that we could have paid for it, but fortunately the team stepped up," Fabregas told Arsenal TV Online.
"We realised that if we kept playing like that, we would be going nowhere.

"It is a very inspiring comeback and maybe we needed something like that to lift us and see that even with injuries and suspensions, we can still have a really strong squad.
"Now we have three days to recover for what will be a big game on Saturday [at Newcastle]."
Front-runners United still have to play Chelsea twice, matches which could have a major say in the title race, but Fabregas maintains Arsenal are only focused on what they can achieve.
"We are just concentrating on ourselves, even if the other teams draw, lost or won, it does not matter," he said.
"The good thing is we are up there fighting for the championship because we really want to go for it."
Arsenal levelled through Andrey Arshavin's volley before Laurent Koscielny headed home what proved to be the winner from a corner.
The French centre-half, whose attempted clearance had led to Saha's controversial goal, believes only the Gunners can overhaul United.
"It looks like we are the last contenders - United are five points ahead of us and they are more points ahead of Chelsea, Manchester City and the others," said the summer signing from Lorient.
"Those teams can come back strong as well, but we look like we could challenge United.
"We have to keep focused on our games and not look too much at theirs.
"We have to keep winning and hopefully they will drop points at some point."
Koscielny, 25, explained: "We have to keep working together - that is the key because if we don't concede goals, we will always have an opportunity to score ourselves.
"Between now and the end of the season, it is going to be a big fight."
Arsenal will be hoping both midfielder Alex Song (leg) and Theo Walcott (ankle) recover from knocks picked up last night to be able to feature at St James' Park.
However, it appears goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski could be sidelined for the rest of the season, with reports in his native Poland suggesting the 26-year-old will need surgery on a shoulder problem.
