This newly designed chip was created to regenerate biological code and prevent brain injuries and mental illness. But like many antagonists in films like this, Stone isn’t the beaker and glasses type of scientist. She’s the evil and menacing type with an agenda to boot.

It is part of the Star Wars franchise, taking place in the same time frame as the The Mandalorian series and its interconnected spin-offs after the events of the film Return of the Jedi (1983).
Skeleton Crew tells a coming-of-age story about four children who make a discovery on their home planet, get lost in the galaxy, and go on an adventure to get back home.
Skeleton Crew,” then, is a purely nostalgic kids’ adventure — a logical lane for “Star Wars” to pursue, given both its own history and the massive success of “Stranger Things.”
If “Skeleton Crew” can sometimes show signs of such coldly rational reverse engineering, the charm of its cast and their infectious sense of wonder goes a long way toward selling the endeavor.
Modern IP mining, which co-creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford (both of “Spider-Man: Homecoming”) are no strangers to, is an exercise in grown-up kids getting to play with hand-me-down toys; there’s something refreshing about seeing that process literalized in a child gleefully running amok on a spaceship.
