To mulisaaa the expert on Kenyan affairs; JKIA T2 is a temporary arrivals facility catering for other international airlines apart from KQ and it's Skyteam partners.
After the main and common arrivals terminal burnt down, terminal 2 was mooted as a stop gap measure but still conforming to ICAO/IATA standards.
Greenfield terminal was only shelved and never scrapped! That's why construction of the second runway and associated infrastructure is almost kicking off.
