I enjoyed most of the pictures you all posted, so with anger I rod this in the Citizen.

The official handover of Morogoro Road will take longer than expected as some unscrupulous people have already started vandalising infrastructure.
The road is part of the Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit (Dart) project.
According to Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Said Mecky Sadick, some crooked individuals have started stealing traffic lights and manhole covers for Dart.

"So far, over 28 traffic lights have been stolen…. They have also vandalised some 10 manhole covers," Mr Sadick told Prime Minister, Mizengo Pinda in Dar es Salaam on Sunday at an event where the Premier officiated at the inauguration ceremony of a project to expand Kamal Steel Mill.
According to Mr Sadick, the vandalism forced the government and the contractor to postpone the official handover of the road.

"We decided to postpone the handover to a new date which will be announced later after we realised that a lot of damage has been done on the newly constructed road," he said.

The project includes the construction of 20.9-km bus ways from the Kimara terminal to Kivukoni; Msimbazi Road from Fire to Kariakoo-Gerezani and a section of Kawawa Road from Magomeni to Morocco junction, as well as 27 stations, five terminals and two bus depots.

Mr Sadick said incidents of vandalism were also witnessed at Upanga where signposts, indicating that manhole covers had been stolen.

"This is a serious problem which we must jointly find its lasting solution," he said.

He called upon the government to make routine follow-ups."

While admitting that the government's January 2006 decision to ban export of scrap metal was done in good faith for the general good of local industries, it was disheartening that some local steel manufacturing firms were using Tanzania's hard-earned manhole covers and other parts of infrastructure as raw materials to feed their factories.

The shear number of traffic lights on morogoro road gives chills, from ubungo mataa(ubungo maji) to morogoro/ali hassan road junction at DIT a distance of 8kilometers there is 14 traffic lights stops! Thats an average of a traffic stop every 600 meters! Perfect recipie for foleni. For good value for money, Overpass and underpasses were so necessary in this project. Instead of spending billions on stop stations with some less than 50 meters from each other, it would have been better spent solving the snurl up the project was aimed to address in the fist place
