Mt Kilimanjaro can never be seen (with naked eyes) from Nairobi

From the diagram, the angle 0.57 degrees is just a half angle, the visual angle is 0.57 x 2 = 1.14 degrees. So rounding it off to 1 degree (twice the visual angle of the moon and sun) is correct.
I dont think its correct.

Because when you are looking at the moon, you are looking at an object which you see from top to bottom, where as when you are looking at Mt.Kilimanjaro from 200km away, you are obscured by the earth bieng circle and all, Staring at Mt.Kili is equivalent to staring at half a moon just when the moon is "rising"...Therefore what we see (or we think we see) as the base of the Mountain may actually be like 1 Km above the base of the Mountain going upwards .... And aside from that, the calculation for the moon uses its Diameter to arrive at that 0.5 degrees

moonsun1.png

Anyway, in short, eigther use half of that angle (the 0.57 degrees) or switch to calculating using the diameter of Mt.Kilimanjaro and not the height

But then again, if you insist on using the height or even the diameter then you will need to factor in the curveture of the earth, i.e How many degrees we are between Nairobi and Kili in terms of longitudes and latitudes

Because, likee in this picture, Our horizons are different when standing on earth, From Nairobi we could only be seeing 3/4 of the mountain because the other 1/4 is blocked by earth

You said diameter of the mountain? Did you mean the base length?

With the distance from Nairobi to Mt Kilimanjaro being over 206 km, at any particular time in a day/night or season Mt Kilimanjaro can never be seen from Nairobi! even if the distance was 100 km like from Thika town, Mt Kilimanjaro can never be seen! The distance has to be at least less than 50 km for the mountain to be seen.

Among animal species that r known of seeing objects at a distance Eagle bird comes first and u will be surprised can do so at a distance of 4.8 km (3 miles). Who r Kenyans to see an object at a distance of 206 km? I call their desperation is stupidity of highest order!

To attest to their stupidity i have combined a list of proofs that exposes their silly deceitful campaigns .

Here is a reknown pilot n blogger exposing their stupidity! He says with right lens! No naked eyes can see that Mt at that distanceunless u have eagle eyes that unfortunately can spot an object at a distance of 4.8 km!

Here is again the post of a photographer known as Andreas Knausenberger that they have wrongly used his name to propagate silly lies. On his twitter account he had to come out and deny the lies, He says Mt Kilimanjaro can be seen from Nairobi NP "only with Nikon D 850 with 500 mm lens mounted" !

Mimi nishawahi kuiona Mt.Kilimanjaro nikiwa on top of KICC! tuliangalia huo mlima karibu lisaa limoja tukishangaa shangaa bila kuamini, hadi jamaa mmoja akatoa binoculars na ulikua unaona snow cap kabisa kwahivyo you couldnt mistake it for any other mountain.... So mtu akiniambia hauwezi kuona Mt.Kili sijui hata nisemeje kwasababu mimi nishaiona!

Ive been seeing it at upperhill, sasa sijui hawa watu ni nini wanabishana, Geza mwenyewe akaweka tweet ya pilot akiwa ole sereni and you know how flat that place it and it was visible, how much more upper hill

BTW hio hesabu ya visual angle ya mwezi kutumia hio hesabu yako ya tan inverse, hio angle hawakufanya x2,

moonsun1.png

Diameter/Length ya moon devide by distance from earth unapata 0.009210526315789473

1588689833206.png

Inverse Tan ya hio numbari hapo juu unapata hio angle ya 0.5 degrees

Exactly, ni kama vile mtu akwambie Bill Gates is not real, he is just CGI shown in videos na wewe ushawahi kukutana na yeye ana kwa ana

From the above diagram you can see the visual angle of the mountain from Nairobi is roughly around 1 degree which is about twice the visual angle of the moon or the sun.

With this realization we expect to see the image of the peak of mt. Kilimanjaro to have twice the relative size of the moon's diameter.

Unfortunately, on the image below the peak of the mountain from Nairobi (allegedly) is about three times the relative visual size of the moon. If both the sun and moon, regardless of their actual sizes and distances from the earth have the same visual angles and the relative sizes, how come the relative visual size of the mountain from Nairobi is not having the same ratio?

This image above shows the calculations for finding the visual angle of mount Kilimanjaro (about 12 degrees) from Amboseli, which is only 17 km away.

The picture below is the image of the mountain from Amboseli. looking at the image, visual angle (12 degrees) of Kibo from Amboseli is similar to that of one degree from Nairobi, since when 12 equals to1?

It's not about whether an object reflects light but how much light is reflected. The mountain is too small compared to the moon to reflect a significant amount of sunrays.

Look up a concept called 'Lens compression' when doing high amount of zoom.
Dispute all you want with funny mathematics, fact remains we see Kilimanjaro in Nairobi...

Which church do you guys go? Why do u guys Keep telling lies to the whole world? How on earth can a man see an object from such a distance? Idiots

Burj Khalifa, which is only 800 meters tall, can be seen 95 kms away. Now compare with Mt Kilimanjaro wich is 5,800 meters

Inverse Tan ya hio numbari hapo juu unapata hio angle ya 0.5 degrees
If you remember your primary school math lessons well, you'd recognize something called angular and perpendicular bisector.

We're talking about seeing this shit with your naked eyes, bro.

Mt Kilimanjaro snow caps as seen from Tsavo West

In Summary
  • In the morning, Kilimanjaro makes its appearance with its snow cap, which hasn’t been seen in decades.

It is late March and the first surprise after leaving Diani, with its white sandy beaches and blue warm water on Kenya’s South Coast, was the mist covered peaks of Shimba Hills.

Shimba Hills National Park is famous for being the only home in Kenya for the Sable antelope, which are on the decline with as few as 50 from a high of 300 in the late 1950s. The park also has elephants and other big game and is listed as one of the top 25 biodiversity hotspots in the world for plant life.

But time is not on our side so we hasten to Tsavo West due to the 7pm curfew in Kenya.

We’re the first visitors to enter through the Tsavo Gate by Tsavo River. A stunning scarlet-chested sunbird has us enthralled as we wash our hands before driving in. Under a cloud-filled sky, the rocky crags give way to the wide stretch of the Ngulia escarpment, which is home to tens of thousands of southward-bound migrating birds from Eurasia flying over the escarpment.

We drive via the Roaring Rocks not far from the Rhodesia bridge built during the First World War over Tsavo River. It gets less dense and the grass plains open to the lava flow of Shetani from the Chyulu hills. In the morning, Kilimanjaro makes its appearance with its snow cap, which hasn’t been seen in decades. We make it to Nairobi just as the lockdown is announced on March 24.

MY TAKE
This one is understandable considering the fact Tsavo west NP borders Mkomazi NP n separated by a border btn Tanzania and Kenya
