President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his counterpart John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania have lunched the construction of the Oil pipeline stretching from Hoima to Tanga Port in Tanzania.

The 1,445km pipeline is expected to be completed by 2020.

The two leaders re-affirmed their resolve to execute one of East Africa’s mega projects expeditiously as part of the efforts to transform their countries and the region.

The project will cost about sh13 trillion.

According to Irene Muloni, the energy minister, the pipeline will create short-term employment for both highly skilled professionals, semiskilled and casual labourers, totalling to 10,000 jobs.

Meanwhile, huku tunapiga pesa kwa kuauction Ng'ombe wao halafu tunazindua ujenzi wa bomba la mafuta refu zaidi Duniani,
We must humble em down softly, with all their ego, arrogance and ignorance.
I love games.

Finally, that's good news. I seem to recall construction was to start on August 2016, it was then pushed to January 2017. Sai ni November 2017 ndio wanalay the foundation stone, how African.

And what of your prediction of it going to Nile state South Sudan Geza? No one (in power) seems to be mentioning it

The world's longest crude oil pipeline is the Interprovincial Pipe Line Inc. installation, which spans the North American continent from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada through Chicago to Montreal: a distance of 3787.2km 2353 miles.

LightYagami Longest heated pipeline ni Hoima-Tanga pipeline. Take that to the any bank! BTW even rail business we r taking away from Kenya!

Total SA has renewed her licence in South Sudan! Be sure the oil from there will flow to anywhere but not to Lamu!

That's what you call checkmate! Mkitoa cheap crude oil kupitia Tanga tunairegesha ikiwa expensive refined oil kupitia Mombasa.

Construction started back in 2014, even with the things that are going on in Kenya, we still finished the construction

That is stale news old friend, lemme bring you up to date

South Sudan could revoke Total's exploration licence

It's good that you aren't in the south Sudanese realms of power, or any realms of power. Your wishes of where their oil (and ours) will be exported via will keep on being wishes. It's up to them (and our Govt) to choose

How many times has this pipeline been launched really? In my opinion on the above BS, the pipeline might take not less than 5 years to commence or might be another infamous white elephant hoodwinking Tz masses as was Bagamoyo hyped port and the SGR.

this is not the matter of decisions of countries which route to take, but finances. if the financial models shows the Hoima route is the cheapest. no investor will about your obsession. it's a serious business.

That is where you're terribly wrong. South Sudan would be contended entirely by the already existing pipeline via Khartoum if economics was the basis of their oil export channel. But they chose not to, coz they can, just as we can

guy if you can't argue in the line of facts and figures, but rather on your intuition, feelings and sentiments is better you remain silent.

Uganda n Tanzania are to build a new refinery in Hoima! And each country will be shareholder. I wonder how will that defunct medieval refinery cope with competition!
