As I said, Read the various acts, And CoopBank is a commercial bank, i have never desputed that..They finally got the license from CBK i think sometimes in 2004, but its operations and clientele reflect heavily from its roots in cooperative sector..its more inclined to lend to private sector than to GoK

This clown again! Spewing mindless mis-information on every thread.

Have it the way you want folks,
James Mwangi has already told you the source of kenya's Banking industry Mega Profits..Its The GOK
Now form a new thread and protest 😀😀

You lie. You cannot get a personal loan if you have no shares/member of cooeratives, but you can get a construction or mortage because it has security attached.
If you read the cooperatives act of kenya you will know the difference between a coop and a commercial bank..Coops exist for the benefit of its members, commercial banks are in business purely for profit and thats why they would rather buy treasury bonds than lend to private individuals which is risky.
You are very shallow in this field..Do you even know why Coop fought with CBK to get a commercial bank license?

Cooperative bank is a commercial bank like any other.
You can get a loan with nothing but your payslip. You don't need to be a member of any sacco. I don't need to read any acts because this is something I've done personally.
And the situation is the same in all banks. In both Equity and KCB, government loans make up about 20% or less. . of the total loan book.
