anzania Employment Services Agency (TaESA) is a Government agency established under the Executive Agency Act, Cap 245 R.E .2002. It was established in the spirit of the government in converting some of its departments and units into executive agencies for the purpose of improving the delivery of public services, creating an environment conducive to efficient and effective management, improving the quality of employment services which was provided by the department of employment in the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Youth Development. TaESA is under the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Youth Development. It was given mandate by the government to monitor, regulate, administer and coordinate all matters related to the provision of employment services in Tanzania Mainland.
TaESA strives to achieve the goals and objectives of the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty linked to the National Development Vision of 2025 and the Millennium Development Goals.
Employment services and efficient development and utilization of Human Resources are critical requirements for the above mentioned national goals. Therefore the need to create employment opportunities and effective provision of employment services are number one priorities in order to empower Tanzanians for the purpose of reducing income poverty and economic Development.

Roles and Functions[/h]
The following are roles and functions of the Agency:
- Prepare internal policies and programmes for providing services to customers and stakeholders;
- Provide skills on career guidance and employment counseling;
- Regulate, register and monitor public and private employment service agencies;
- Coordinate, collect, process, analyze and disseminate Labour Market Information to the stakeholders and the general public in accordance to set standards;
- Coordinate placement services through processes of registering and preliminary interviewing jobseekers, conducting job search workshops and interview preparation sessions, job matching and referring them to prospective employers
- Coordinate, provide and monitor cross-border placement services;
- Advise the Government and training institution on the need to provide demand driven trainings for students of secondary schools, tertiary institutions and universities; and
- Review, develop and promote application of manual and automated employment processing and analysis techniques such as Tanzania Standard Classification of Occupations (TASCO), International Standard Classification of Industries (ISCO) and PC Recruiter.
