Just let people talk. They can say anything but every country knows best what it did right and what it did wrong.

Do Kenyans really know their own country?

Fact: The most violent country in the world outside a war-zone is South Africa. Jo'burg alone has the highest concentration of guns per capita in the world. It higher than Somalia or DRC! If in doubt see UNDP reports on proliferation of a small arms and light weapons for the past five years.

Fact: Nairobi hosts nearly 2,500 foreign (let alone local) journalists -- the highest concentration in the world -- who must file a story. This means a crime story is published 2,500 or more times.

Fact: Nairobi hosts the largest slums in Africa. The gulf between the rich and the poor, is therefore huge. Does is surprise that Kenyans are ever complaining and whining about nothing, like the blogger who penned the piece on crime in Nairobi?

There has been talk in this blog that Kenya has been advertising Mt Kilimanjaro as though it is in Kenya.......
Ernest Mpinganjira asked a question and no Tanzanian has answered it to this date. i.e. When and where did Kenya advertise Kilimanjaro as its own?
I raise this issue again because i want to hold my government to account!!!That is the sort of corruption that i would want to gladly pick up at the highest level, even writitng to my own President to explain. My reason and logic is very simple: why is the Kenyan Government wasting public funds to advertise Kilimanjaro when they know very well that there is no economic benefit whatsover to the country? I mean, when Kenya advertises this mountain as its own, the economic benefit goes to TZ and not Kenya because sooner the climbers will be enticed to climb this mountain in TZ of course, and any income therefrom will go the TZ coffers. So how is Kenya benefiting here?
Urgently post the evidence on this blog and i will download it immediately, and forward it to State House, Government ministries et. all.and will demand an answer. It will really be a big issue here in Kenya!!!! Do so now.

Naona fahari jua machweo ifikapo. Najua nitalala tena, kuamka ni kudra ya maulana. Kamwe sitashiriki mijadala isio na chembe ya ukweli.

While I normally find myself buying your lines of thought in your occasional article in the Sunday Standard (Kenya), I cannot resist correcting you on this one. The piece on Nairobi being a Crime city was penned by a Tanzanian. As usual the JF admin found it in themselves to redirect the foul article to the Kenyan Politics room. Actually this piece appeared as part of the narrow reactions by some Tanzanian JF members to Mnairobi's wonderful photos of Nairobi (see Nairobi photo gallery thread).

We got tired two years ago discussing and reacting to xenophic Tanzanian attitudes in this fora.

Ernest you should know better than to react to such a fourth-rate article as the one posted on Crime in Nairobi than to direct a ground to ground missile blasting Kenyans into a messy pulp of ever-grumbling holloi polloi. It is through our questioning, and crossquestion of our leaders that you witness the complex and increasingly responsible politics we have in Kenya post1992. Grumbling isnt a sin, but grumbling over nothing is.

Aluta continua
