Kenya railways has released the schedule of the nairobi commuter rail as 6 more sets of dmus are being shipped.

i) Nairobi central station to syokimau line will get to have 12 trips a day to and from the whole length of the route.
ii) Nairobi central station to embakasi line will have 14 trips a day to and from the stations.
iii) Nairobi central station to kahawa west line will get 2 trips a day
iv) Nairobi central station to ruiru line will get 2 trips a day.
v) Nairobi central station to kikuyu line will also get 2 trips a day.

NB: The allocation is based on population, but trips will increase across all the 5 lines once the other 6 sets of DMUs arrive in the country. All 5 routes will get hourly service but also based on population the first 2 routes will get additional capacity per DMU since 2 of the 6 sets to be delivered are in a three car configuration.

At 14 trips daily for embakasi route assuming each DMU is at full capacity per trip that means even with 14 trips daily, the DMUs will move about 4,200 commuters daily, which will reduce matatu traffic on that route by 140 trips daily.
speed has gone up from 20kph to an average of 60 kph i.e. trains will take 25 minutes from embakasi village to nairobi cbd and thirty minutes from syokimau to nairobi cbd.
In some sections of the routes the dmus will travel at peak speed of 100 kph especially on the syokimau line.
 
by the way i like venye sikuizi wame barricade the whole railway line with fence kwanzia apo nairobi station (cbd) all the way towards embakassi..alafu pia wamejaribu ku clean up..this people were really serious with this project..am 100% sure ile jkia and cbd line by next year wataanza kuijenga..never to forget kumbe ile mombasa gate bridge yenye iko diffrent na floating bridge kumbe japan wataanza kuijenga by aprill next year uko mombasa juu naona people washaanza kua compensated..naskia huyo japan mwenye anajenga uko dongo kundu is the same contractor mwenye atajenya hio pia..surely kenya is developing..we must applaud rais uhuru
 
True the likoni floating bridge is different from the Mombasa gate bridge which is part of MPARD. Phase 2 of MPARD currently ongoing will have I think 4 bridges.
Likoni floating bridge is for pedestrians only but Mombasa gate will be motorised and non motorised traffic.

Brother BRT is trying to copy a commuter rail, all the countries you mentioned have commuter rail as the backbone of their public transport system. In fact denmark has Dsb.

Yes I used to work in Nyellebjerg in København/Copenhagen (a two zone ticket). They have trains as the main transport and mass transit buses as the last mile.

All the countries you have mentioned do not use buses as the main form of transport, they use buses for last mile connectivity which is what Kenya is doing.

Hatutaki kuchukua basi na kuifanya iwe kama commuter train (BRT). Kenya basi, tena locally assembled , zinatumika kwa last mile yani kutoka kwa stesheni ya reli kuingia mitaani kama vile europe. Kumaanisha hatuhitaji basi nyingi.
