Maintaining a railway company is more expensive than maintaining road service, in order to sustain the running coast an average person will have to spend around Tshs 30,000 on a public transport. We will get there but not yet.

Please elaborate, what data are you using for your assertion.
If am not mistaken, Tshs 30,000 (Kshs 1,500) in Tanzania can get you to Kigoma from Dar, a distance of more than 1,000km.
In Nairobi, we have a commuter train that travels a distance of about 20km, and the last time I checked, the fare was 40Kshs (Tshs 400)

In my humble opinion, the wear and tear involved when running a fleet of buses within the city surpasses a commuter train that carries 1,000 passengers at a go.

KRC have invited tenders for construction of about 20 more stations and have a massive plan underway to revitalize commuter railway system. Including cheaper parking slots for motorists, where you park and take a train to the city.

But, can someone breakdown the need for us to really use BRT in the city. I mean we already have these huge buses and the traffic is still a menace, I think commuter train is the way to go. But I stand to be corrected.

According to the Rebuilding Rail Report, the cost of running the railways has more than doubled in real terms since privatisation, from £2.4 billion during the five year period 1990-95 to around £5.4 billion per year during 2005–10.
 
It's currently only 21 km and you claim it serves the whole of Dar. How is that possible?

Sikia, Kinondoni is the biggest district is Dar, accounting for nearly 60% of the population. Right now BRT serves the main artery, Morogoro road plus a trunk that connects to Old and New Bagamoyo road. Kazini kwangu hakuna BRT, but it takes me close to where I work, kutoka hapo nachukua daladala za kawaida but by then nimeshaepuka jam.

60%is not all. But it's okay. I got a good response

Yap, it's not all lakini the way it is set up inasaidia sana and inasaidia watu wengi hata ambao haipiti kwao, home trips that used to take 2hrs, now it's 30 mins and at a reasonable price and in some cases it's cheaper than alternatives. Lakini the biggest to me ni comfort and predictability
