I can Imagine. It's bad, I have never witnessed this level of shortage since 2007/8- there was political instability then. In our supermarket, there is no maize flour! The shelves on that section are empty.
Sugar....just the biggest most pipo are not willing to take. Why this is so is not clear, it is so worrying.
Obviously hiyo ni strategy ya kuwin election!kweli....wabunge hasaa wa Afrika nia yao mbaya...most of the time they are looking out for their own individual interests...hard to tll whether this thing is authentic...they could be faking it
The politicians always capitalize on the people's plights for their own political ends. It is not sumthing only peculiar to Kenya. The high cost of living, real or imagined has has always being been the focus of campaign against the govt by the opposition. No one denying the problem is not real, but the issue is politician using the issued for there own benefit. You know what followed, watu walitaka kuingia mtaani, but not before taking a cue from another group of politicians who want to capitalised on the issue. Siasa ni usanii kila mahali.
Hata jubilee ili wasihubiriwe ndo maana UK anamwagiza spika aitishe bunge haraka haraka!
If you read my pervious comments you'll see I didn't specify that this is an issue affecting Kenya only. Politician dunia mzima they all behave the same, using people grievances to benefit themselves. The issue here sio chakula hakuna, the issue is politician who themselves are big food suppliers trying to be seen like they're doing something especially at this time of election. Of course they need to do something as politician but there business side of is pulling them the other way, I'm sure ingekuwa sio election year, wangekaa wakaamua waagize chakula nje and guess who will pocket those millions....????The politicians always capitalize on the people's plights for their own political ends. However this is different. The sudden shortages of essential goods, particularly sugar and maize flour seems to have galvanized the opposing sides the Kenyan politics, the leaders from both ends of the divide have decided to sit together to work out a solution to this state of affair, which is very laudable. It's very rare for this to happen. I'm very surprised, many Kenyans are very surprised by this move by the members of the opposition party.
It is clear why there is food shortage in Kenya, and it is not becos it is hoarded by the politicians. The Kenyan politicians have the reputation fot their greed, true, but regarding this matter, are we not now maligning them unjustfiably? If you read my pervious comments you'll see I didn't specify that this is an issue affecting Kenya only. Sawa mkuu.It is clear why there is food shortage in Kenya, and it is not becos it is hoarded by the politicians. The Kenyan politicians have the reputation fot their greed, true, but regarding this matter, are we not now maligning them unjustfiably?
U cannot provide the evidence to back up your claim, which is nothing more than a figment of your imagimation.
Look at the recent drought that ravaged huge swathes of this continent, Kenya was adversely affected, so were the other countries from which it sources its food supply. It has turned out that SA, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda etc, the traditional source countries for Kenya's maize supply are unwilling to sell to Kenya their maize, cos they are also grappling with the shortage.
Okay, señor......Sawa mkuu.
