Ni nani ananunua mafuta ya Kenya? Najua wameanza kuexport mafuta ghafi lkn mpaka sasa hivi sijasikia nchi ya Kenya inauza mafuta wapi yaani nchi gani inanunua?

Najua baadhi mnaweza puuzia hili lkn kama hamjui mafuta yanapokwenda mjue hakuna kitu hapo ni kama dhahabu ya TZ mnapigwa live, hivyo niambieni kwanza nchi gani ina import oil ya Kenya? Yaani yakitoka Bandarini yanaenda wapi?
 
“Once we have accumulated 400,000 barrels of oil, we will then begin a tendering process and sell to the bidder with the best price,” said Petroleum Principal Secretary Anthony Kamau.

Mr Macharia has said that the oil will be sold to international buyers through competitive bidding. Refining firms and international traders will be invited to bid once the cargo is stockpiled at Kenya Petroleum Refineries in Mombasa.

Mr Kamau said international tender for submission of bids is expected to be floated before the end of 2018 and crude will be sold to a bidder who offers Kenya the best price.

Wanaeport kwenda wapi? Usisahahu hata TZ tumekuwa tukiexport dhahabu kwa miaka mingi lkn dhahabu yetu inakwenda wapi au nchi inanunua sijawahi kusikia, hivyo nani ananunua Mafuta ya Kenya?

Lkn nchi gani ina import Kenyan oil? Ni muhimu sana hilo kama haujui ni wapi na nani ananunua mafuta ya nchi ya Kenya basi kuna shida mahali!
 
kwa sasa hakuna export ilioanza...malori yanatoa mafuta Turkana yakipeleka Mombasa ambapo yatakuwa stored (Kenya Petroleum Refineries) mpaka yafike kiwango cha 400, 000 barrels...kwanzia hapo kipindi cha bidding kitafunguliwa ambapo nchi za ng'ambo zitanunua kulingana na best prices...
 
hii mafuta ikianza kuuzwa wasijaribu kupatia ministry of energy au state corporations pesa...afadhali iende direct kwa govt (executive)
 


Ok kwa hiyo export ya oil haijaanza bado?

Oil Refinaries close to mombasa are in india,the gulf and south east asia (Malaysia/singapore). Its too far from the normal opec oil fields and the quantity is too small 400k barrels per 6 months or 800k barrels per year since transport is by road.The quality of crude is also not the best(Heavy-sour) unlike gulf (Sweet-light).Its costly to refine this type as it requires some mixing with light crude. Mostly the crude will be sold at throwaway prices.
 
The tender could command the higher profit if it would be done at the oil field. At the Mombasa port a number of costs including storage charges will erode the yields which were expected.
 
Kenya oil has a sulfur content of less than 0.5 which makes it light and sweet..so as far as fetching money is concerned, its quality is not a problem. .. the only problem is that its also waxy which requires constant heating before it gets to the refinery which is bound to increase transport cost
