NBA Season 2015 - 2016: Special thread

Hadi All star?????????? Kwahiyo Westbrook aliyeshinda MVP ya all star alifanya nini kwenye NBA Western Conference finals? hebu toa hiyo Category hapo kumpima mtu aiseeee.
hahahahah...................

It's only his third all star and you guys tripping like he's played 7 or 15 like the one you've mentioned.. Hebu acheni double standards hizi aiseee.

Great. That speaks volume braza. Najua tutarudi kwenye debate ya zamani: where was Curry? 7 NBA seasons, 3 All Stars appearances.

Oh! Double standards?

Hahahahah Curry can't become that man.... He's limited to what he's best at. And when it comes to that nobody edges his marksmanship. Kwanini tu tusikubali kuwa a player is whom he's. LeBron kabarikiwa kuwa whom he's no problem. He's a great all rounder no problem.. he's a great defender no problem... he's a great and efficient scorer no problem...

But Curry is whom he's man #period. A great shooter and an efficient scorer. Hayo mengine hayahitaji na sio lazima. he's 6'3 and few have been better rebounders at that height. He's not a good passer according to stats not because he can't but the team let's him not be a primary passer of the game..

We've got to embrace this moment. Halafu jiulize kwanini katika hii conversation kwanini humuweki Kevin Durant who's even taller.... kwanini hawekwi Westbrook and the likes of other greats. Them against LeBron tangu season inaanza?

It's because of only one thing... Curry has mastered the code of his best attributes. And he's beating the others on it. Tikiti haliwezi kuwa boga na simba wanaopanda miti are on a verge of extinction kama all rounder players ambao ni best kama LeBron.

#period

Hivi hili nalo ni swali..... mention five players who've endured injuries kama huyu kijana. Hebu tuwe realistic. This kid's career had been hampered by injuries that's not even a question.

..naomba unitajie ubad boy wa LBJ,Durant na RW......Infact none has any element of being a ''bad boy'' if literally meant...
The problem is ''WITH SUCCESS,THERE COMES HATE''...

..KWA HIYO UMETENGUA KAULI SIO?!?!..basi sawa..you have yet to commit an offense...

Curry amekuwa akichoke kwenye biggest stage.. Zipi hizo labda uziseme sasa..

Alafu hivi unajua MVP wa All Star anapatikanaje?? U just need to be a ball hog to win it..

Yaani ESPN walivyokuwa wanamsifia Lebron hamkuwa mnaona??

2015-16 Stats says...

Stephen Curry
PPG APG RPG PER
30.1 6.7 5.4 31.56

Lebron James
PPG APG RPG PER
25.3 6.8 7.4 27.64

PPG APG RPG PER
23.5 10.4 7.8 27.64

Curry is not what u guys want him to be.. He is on his own lane..

H

Great. Then, don't compare Curry with Bron and MJ. Curry is currently the best shooter (he might go down as the best ever, if he keeps on doing what is doing now consistently i.e. for more than just two seasons). But he aint the best baller.

Unasema all rounders are on the verge of extinction, wakati GSW kuna Green? Kama Green akiendelea kucheza hivi, he is the next all rounder to watch.

But, Curry's fanatics do so.

Hahahahaha kaka.... as long as you don't appreciate what this man is doing then you don't have respect for this game. .yaani Curry is not a baller?

Sasa kama Curry ain't a baller Irving ni nani?

Hivi hili nalo ni swali..... mention five players who've endured injuries kama huyu kijana. Hebu tuwe realistic. This kid's career had been hampered by injuries that's not even a question.

This is one of the great misconception re Curry's late NBA surge. He has been in the league for 7 seasons; he only missed most games (due to injuries) in the 2011/12 seasons. That is according to NBA stats. In that season, he played only 26 games (with 23 starts).

"Missed 40 games due to injury, including the last 28 games (3/13-4/26) with a sprained right ankle and subsequent surgery on the ankle (performed 4/25)...Also missed nine previous games with a sprained right ankle (12/28, 1/6-1/18) and three with a strained tendon in his right foot (2/28, 3/2-3/4)."

His career injury stats for other seasons:
1. 2009/10: played 80 games (77 starts). Missed 2 games
"with a sprained left ankle."

2. 2010/11: played 74 games (all starts). "Missed eight games due to a sprained right ankle (two games from 10/31 - 11/3 & six games from 12/10 - 12/21)."

3. 2012/13: played 78 games (all starts), and 12 playoff games (all starts). No injuries!

4. 2013/14: 78 games (all starts) and 7 postseason games. No injuries!

5. 2014/15: over 80 games (all starts) and 21 postseason games. "Missed one game due to rest and one game due to right foot soreness."

So, it only the 2011/12 season that would count in this Curry's injury narrative. Despite the injuries in that season, he did these:

"Ranked tied for second in the NBA in three-point percentage, hitting a career-best .455 from long range.

• Posted career-highs in field goal percentage (.490) and three-point percentage (.455) to go with an .809 mark from the free throw line, becoming just the second player in NBA history to hit at least 46.0 percent from the field, 43.0 percent from three-point land and 80.0 percent from the free throw line in three consecutive seasons (joining Steve Nash, who did so in five-straight seasons from 2004-05 to 2008-09) and the only player to accomplish the feat in his first three seasons in the league.

• His three-point percentage (.455) ranked as the fourth-best single-season percentage in franchise history.

• Posted season highs of 36 points on 13 made field goals (six threes) in 40 minutes on 2/18 at Memphis...Also scored 36 points on 2/9 at Denver...Dished out a season-high 12 assists on 2/2 vs. Utah and swiped a season-best six steals on 12/26 vs. Chicago.

• One of only seven players to post multiple games with at least 36 points and six assists (joining LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Kobe Bryant, Tony Parker, Chris Paul and Deron Williams).

• Posted 32 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals on 1/25 vs. Portland, one of only four players to tally those figures in a game (joining LeBron James, Monta Ellis, John Wall).

• Tallied 21 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and six steals on 12/26 vs. Chicago, making him one of only two players to post those figures in a game (John Wall) and one of only three active players to have posted those numbers in multiple games in a career (Jason Kidd and Chris Paul)."

You asked me to name five players (I don't know why you chose 5, and not 1 or 20!) who have 'similar' injury history. Now, I give you Black Mamba's career injuries infograph:

Kaka, I have always said, and I'm saying again this: Curry is currently the best shooter and the most entertaining player in the league. The problems I have with his fanatics is naming him 'the best ever'; and comparing him to GOATs like MJ and Bron, who have consistently been best players and entertainers since before and after entering the league. Yes, he is now the best shooter and player. But, to be even considered the best ever and be compared to other GOATs, let him do what he is doing now for more than 2 seasons i.e. consistently, he has to the best player, breaking records as an individual and helping his team to win championships or at least reach NBA's biggest stage.

Re the word 'baller', don't take it out of context. I believe you are mature enough to apprehend what I write and maintain consistency with my argument.

This is it..... mwanzo emotions zilikuchukua sana. He's yet to be the best ever but he's currently what you've said. Kudos

Mwanzo upi ndugu?

SAY NO MORE, CUZ!.

Here’s How Much Money ABC & the NBA Make with an NBA Finals Game 7

Are the NBA Finals rigged? That’s what Ayesha Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors’ guard and reigning league MVP Stephen Curry, tweeted last night. The message was posted after Curry received his sixth foul and was ejected from the NBA Finals’ Game 6—which was won by the Cleveland Cavaliers, extending the series for a final, decisive Game 7 on Sunday.

“I’ve lost all respect sorry this is absolutely rigged for money… Or ratings in not sure which,” Ayesha Curry post in a tweet, which she later deleted. “I won’t be silent . Just saw it live sry.”

Granted, the wife of a player is hardly an unbiased observer. But Ayesha Curry is not the only one who’s been claiming that the NBA Finals are “absolutely rigged.”

Tim Donaghy, the disgraced former NBA referee who was pushed out of the league after a scandal involving his gambling on games, told Sports Illustrated this week that he thought the NBA decided to suspend the Warriors’ Draymond Green for the Finals’ Game 5 in order to ensure more games would be played. “It gives Cleveland a better chance of prolonging the series,” Donaghy said of the questionable suspension of Green, the Warriors’ best defender.

Donaghy also said that in his experience, referees always seemed to favor teams that were losing in a playoff series, in order give them the best chance of prolonging it. “It was always a situation where the team down in the series was going to benefit from those calls,” he said.

There is no proof whatsoever that anyone has rigged anything. But plenty of Warriors’ fans, as well as the conspiracy-minded in general, are quick to note that the Warriors had dominated before Green’s suspension. They were up 3-1 in the series and neither Curry nor his sharp-shooting “Splash Brothers” teammate Klay Thompson had even been playing up to their potential. All the Warriors needed was to win one more game to take the championship. Then Green was suspended, and the Warriors lost Game 5 at home. Warriors’ starting center Andrew Bogut was hurt in that same game and is now out for the series, making it easier for the Cavaliers to trounce to victory in Game 6 and force a Game 7.

And, the conspiracy-minded are quick to point out, the NBA and ABC—the network with broadcast rights to the Finals—stand to make big money because the series didn’t end in only five games. Just how much money?

Well, last year, AdAge cited data from ispot.tv indicating that ABC pulled in $223.9 million in advertising revenues over the course of last year’s NBA Finals matchup, which again featured the Cavaliers versus the Warriors. That series only lasted six games, however. A Game 7 is typically a ratings and money-making bonanza. AdAge estimated that had there been a Game 7 last year, it would have likely drawn an audience of 32 million viewers and a 21.2 household rating, up from an average of 20 million viewers and an 11.6 rating for the previous games in the 2015 NBA Finals.

As for the advertising revenues, “A seventh game likely would have tossed another $45 million on the pile,” AdAge reported.

So, if the 2016 NBA Finals had ended with a Game 5 victory by the Warriors, ABC would have missed out on the ad revenues of Game 6 and Game 7—which will probably total in excess of $80 million, based on estimates from last year.

This figure doesn’t include any other money made based on the NBA Finals going beyond five games. The arenas hosting the games obviously benefit financially when there are more games, and ticket sellers are cashing in thanks to added drama and simply more games being played. Players, sponsors, and the league in general also stand to benefit, in largely unquantifiable ways, when the NBA Finals is competitive and extends to a full seven games.

So while there’s no real evidence that the NBA Finals are rigged, it’s quite clear that lots of people would be getting rich if they were.
