Here's what Steph Curry reportedly told Kevin Durant after his Warriors meeting

Due to Kevin Durant's decision to leave Oklahoma City, the rich get richer as the Warriors, who are the best regular season team of all-time, added another All-Star to their star-studded roster. What Durant's role on Golden State will actually be is still up in the air, but one thing is for sure, Stephen Curry has no problem sharing the face of the franchise tag with the Warriors' newest star.

Curry is the league's first unanimous MVP and is perhaps the most popular player in the league. Yet Curry reportedly told Durant that he is more than happy to put that all aside for the All-Star forward to come to Golden State.

From ESPN's Marc Spears:

Even so, Curry apparently felt it necessary to send Durant a message hours after the meeting Friday night to reassure him about his commitment to "Strength In Numbers" and unselfishness.

According to a person who saw the text messages, Curry told Durant in a text message that he could care less about who is the face of the franchise, who gets the most recognition or who sells the most shoes (Curry is with Under Armor, Durant with Nike). The two-time NBA MVP also told Durant that if Durant won the MVP award again he would be in the front row of the press conference clapping for him. In closing, Curry's message to Durant was that all he truly cared about was winning championships and he'd like to do that as his teammate.

One reason for Curry's popularity is his humbleness, which is in full display in his reported texts with Durant. It helps shed light on why Durant decided to leave the community and stardom he created in Oklahoma City for Golden State. When the league's biggest star is literally telling you I don't care if I am the star anymore, how can you say no?

The Warriors have always been an unselfish team on the court and now thanks to their Curry's selflessness, Golden State have added one of the top players in the NBA in Durant. It may seem unfair yet the Warriors literally presented Durant with a genuine offer he couldn't refuse and now the Golden State looks poised to be a dynastic team.

Once opponents, Steph and KD are now teammates. USATSI

I hear Stephen A. I see where he's coming from. He has some very valid points.

At the same time I also understand where KD is coming from. After all, it's his right to go work where he wants to. This is America! The land of endless opportunities.

So I can't really knock him for that.

Me personally, I don't like this idea of super teams if in the end it's going to vitiate competition.

I like competition because it is fun and it makes it worthwhile.

LeBron James' championship in Cleveland, to me, means a whole hell of a lot more than those two championships in Miami.

I believe same would've applied to Kevin Durant. Now it won't be.

He couldn't win on his own [not literally] so he had to go join Steph Curry's gravy train.

But we will see how things pan out because what's on paper doesn't always translate to what actually happens.

I wouldn't be one bit surprised if the New York Knickerbockers or San Antonio for that matter, emerge as real title contenders when all is said and done.

Brother-man...still feel the same way now as you did a couple weeks ago?

That your beloved GSt. Warriors "have found themselves weak"?
They found themselves weak yeah man.... Bob Myers and Jerry West claims that if even it happened that they'd won the championship yet they planned for KD... but I think they got more push due to the loss they got from the Cavs

Stephen A. Smith vs. Kevin Durant....they have some kinda history...

Now this is sure to get people talking.

On Monday, talk ofDwyane Wade meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers made its way around the internet. While it may be viewed as a "long shot," Ethan J. Skolnick of the Miami Herald reported that the Cavs are "an option" for the longtime Heat star.

And then the Cavaliers decided to start following Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, on Twitter and Instagram:

That could be a sign of a possible James-Wade reunion...or it could be nothing at all. For now, it's all we have.
