Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Friday, April 10, announced that the number of confirmed Covid -19 cases in Kenya had risen to 189.
Speaking from Afya House, the CS confirmed that in the last 24 hours, five individuals had tested positive for the disease.
"We have managed to test 504 samples, 5 cases have tested positive to the virus," he stated.
"All five cases are Kenyans and only one has a travel history," he added.
The CS stated that three of the five are from Mombasa County while Nyandarua and Nairobi Counties had recorded one covid-19 positive case each.
Two are male while three are female.
Further, the Health CS informed that 10 individuals had recovered and would be discharged after they tested negative twice.
The number of recovered patients has now risen to 22.
