Following months of speculation, R&B and Pop sensation NE-YO is confirmed to be featured on Coca-Cola's flagship African music show, Coke Studio Africa, for the new season.

NE-YO will be the guest star alongside Wangechi (Kenya), Alikiba (Tanzania), Maurice Kirya (Uganda), Dama Do Bling (Mozambique) and Ice Prince (Nigeria) for a mega mash up.

Ahead of his anticipated arrival in Kenya, in an official statement NE-YO said, "It's a true honor to return to Africa and celebrate artists from all over the continent. By creating this musical fusion through Coke Studio Africa, people of all races, ethnicities and religion will come together through this remarkable opportunity. I'm so excited to build lasting moments with all of these incredibly talented artists and musicians."

Last month he graced the MTV Africa Music Awards 2015, recently held in South Africa. While in Kenya, NE-YO will work on a special Coke Studio Africa song alongside five select stars from Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique who have already recorded mash-ups for the new season.

In the past 10 years, NE-YO has produced six albums. His debut album In My Own Words was a bona fide R&B game changer bearing classics: "Stay", "So Sick", "When You're Mad" and "Sexy Love". His latest album, Non–Fiction was released in January of 2015. The album reached number five on the US Billboard Top 200, making NE-YO the second male R&B artist to have six consecutive top 10 albums.

The masterful musician, who has collaborated with a host of award-winning musicians and songwriters, has under his wing several global hits including "Let me Love You", "Beautiful Monster", "Coming with You" and "She Knows" featuring Juicy J.

NE-YO has also garnered several global accolades and is also hailed as an incredible songwriter delivering worldwide hits including Rihanna's "Unfaithful" and Beyonce's "Irreplaceable". Recently, its been announced that NE-YO has joined the most popular television series, Empire, as music writer. The second season of Empire is set to premiere in September.

Last year on Coke Studio Africa season 2, Wyclef Jean performed his hit song "Divine Sorrow" alongside other artists including Rabbit, Chidinma and Shaa.

The new season has so far seen the likes of Chameleone, Olamide, Jua Cali, Elani, Vanessa Mdee, 2 Face Idibia, Fid Q, Juliana Kanyamozi and Neyma, among others record in the exciting new mash-up arrangement.

Grammy Award nominee, musician and producer ZwaiBala, of groundbreaking South African Kwaito group TKZee, have been working as the music director while Brett Lotriet, a renowned International TV director and producer will be the series producer.

In addition, the musicians along with the highly talented house band have also presented new tracks each week produced by both local and international producers. Some of the producers include JaazOdongo, Eric Musyoka and Kevin Provoke from Kenya, CobhamsAsuquo, Masterkraft and Chopstix from Nigeria, OwourArunga from USA, Nahreel from Tanzania and Silvastone from the UK.

High-flying Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz is in Kenya trying to get a photo opportunity with American R&B star Ne-Yo.
The Tanzanian flew in on Monday and booked himself at the Hemingways Hotel, in Mbagathi Ridge, Nairobi.
This is the same hotel where Ne-Yo is staying.
Sources say Diamond is seeking to upstage his compatriot and music rival Ali Kiba who is set to perform for Coke Studio Africa alongside Ne-Yo.

However, our mole says the show organizers have issued clear instructions to Ne-Yo's security detail to block any attempts for photo-op by Diamond.

Currently there are at least 3 international
performing artists in the 254. More are coming
but not in this month though!
Ne-Yo, Ice Prince and Ali Kiba are currently
sharing a roof at Coke Studio. They will be
rocking fans in an undisclosed location
tomorrow night.
It seems CNN’s ‘Hotbed of Terror’ slur has
turned out to be more of a blessing than a
curse. More and more international stars have
come or confirmed they will be visiting Kenya.
Ever since the broadcaster insulted Kenya,
Akon, Shaggy, Ne-Yo, Ice Prince, Yemi Alade,
Ali Kiba and others have set their feet on
Kenyan soil.
And now 5 Jamaican reggae artists are also
coming! Peetah Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy
Morgan, Nakhamyah Morgan and Memmalatel
Morgan, who together constitutes Morgan
Heritage band have confirmed they will be
visiting the country next month.
The Jamaican siblings said they will be flying
in on October 3rd 2015. Details about who will
be hosting them and which event they will be
gracing haven’t been communicated yet.
We will be updating you once we get the
scoop!

Tanzania musician Diamond Platnumz managed to stage a coup against regional musicians when he secured a prized collabo with American R&B star Ne-Yo.

The song, which was recorded in Kenya Thursday, was fully paid for by Diamond, sources say. The Tanzanian announced the cooperation to his more than 900,000 Instagram followers.

"Thanks alot my Brother Neyo and the Whole Compound Crew had a great Session, and it was realy nice working with you…can't wait for the World to hear this Hit Song!! diamondplatnumz ft Neyo ….. Cc sheddyclever compoundu thecorpshow jullianl #AfricaTotheWorld (sic)," wrote Diamond.

He attached a montage of pictures of the two in the studio with their handlers.

Ne-Yo is in Kenya to record for the Coke Studio Africa. He went to hang out at Tamasha, Hurlingham on Monday night and performed at Ignition club in Westlands on Thursday night.

Earlier in the week, the Nairobi News exclusively reported how Diamond flew to Kenya to get a photo opportunity with American.
The Tanzanian jetted in on Monday and booked himself at the Hemingways Hotel, in Mbagathi Ridge, Nairobi, the same hotel where Ne-Yo stayed.

Sources said Diamond was seeking to upstage his compatriot and music rival Ali Kiba performed for Coke Studio Africa alongside Ne-Yo.

However, our mole says the show organizers had issued clear instructions to Ne-Yo's security detail to block any attempts for photo op by Diamond, which appears to have come a cropper.

A pissed off bouncer in Ne-Yo's entourage threw Sauti Sol's Delvin out of the American singer's Mad House Club party on Friday morning only a few hours before the visiting star flew out of Nairobi.

The Sauti Sol band member was kicked out of the VIP area where Ne-Yo and his entourage were partying at a meet and great bash that was attended by scores of local stars.

Delvin had walked in with an unidentified male friend. He went straight to the VIP section. But minutes later, Ne-Yo's bouncer seemed to have an issue with Delvin after which he commanded he be kicked out of the VIP spot.

"I don't like his attitude, he has no respect," the bouncer heated up. "I don't care who he is," he went on. Hip-hop guru Buddha Blaze intervened and asked Delvin and his friend to vacate the VIP area. A furious Delvin left the club and headed to Club Bachuss in Westlands, where he stayed till late.

The party was attended by among others singer Nameless, Diamond from Tanzania and Maurice Kirya from Uganda among others. During the celebrations, celebrities literally lined-up to take selfies with Ne-Yo, begging bouncers to allow them the chance.

Ne-Yo has been in the country since Monday, last week, as a special guest on this year's Coke Studio (Season 3) mash-up music recording.
