Our hopes of the first female president to shake up things are hereby dashed but we know the reasons

She is a captive of 2025 presidential elections to an extent of being afraid of stirring up the pot she needs to cross that bridge

But hapakazitu became very unpopular because of these appointees. The question we ask ourselves is recycling the same tired faces will yield different results?

Experience has shown personnel matter in formulation and implementation of public policy

In this case, more than 79% of over 50 appointees so far are garbage in garbage out..just too old, too politicised, too chauvinistic, too lazy, too non creative....too much it "pays to know who has an ear to the appointer..."

We need to see more women from Zanzibar holding union posts such as TRA, Ministry of finance among others

Look at the reappointment at TRA sucks that post could have been given to a Zenj woman signalling change is on horizon

Having a woman president who lacks generational, gender and union sensitivity is a sellout to "status quo" because symbolism without substance is an exercise in futility

Look at Lukuvi he has been in the cabinet for more than three decades but he is still there. What message is Madam president sending across the board?

Even a gravely ill George Mkuchika still made the cut for bringing nothing in the cabinet

Some of exuberance in the cabinet like Nchemba is a huge distraction because he is there not on merits but sycophancy

The cabinet and permanent secretaries appointed just too old or too patriarchal or too sycophantic or too pallid

As much as Madam president brags "huyu mnaemwona amesimama hapa ni Rais..." which we concur in full but her demeanour indicates she is a captive of the vanguards of the "status quo"

Looks no fundamental change but incremental window redress is what we should expect here
