You can never please everyone. That's a golden rule.
These political maneuvering were she is trying to keep multiple ccm camps happy, might end up falling flat in the face and be all for nothing.
Trying to secure the 2025 nomination can lead to an uphill battle.
The question is, will they let her be the 2025 candidate? Because alot of her fellow ccm cadres are gunning for the 2025 nomination too. They had to be patient and lay low during the Magufuli era and now mama Samia is in the mix, asking them to forgo seeking the 2025 nomination and be patient again till 2030, basically 15 years of just waiting, is gonna be a very hard pill to swallow and that's were the resistance will come from.
Truth of the matter is, the future is unpredictable, a hard lesson learned during these six years. Asking politicians to be patient till a future where the political landscape might be completely different and they may be at a disadvantage, is gonna take some serious convincing.
She better does something worthwhile for the citizens rather than trying to keep her fellow politicians happy. Otherwise she'll just end up being a lackluster president with nothing to show. Making 2025 even a harder year for her.
Don't forget the opposition will also try to come out guns blazing to try to reclaim the injustice done to them. 2025 is gonna be an interesting year for sure.
I fully subscribe to your views. As far as CCM constitution is concerned, she only need to grab the chairmanship gavel to assure herself of the CCM most prized presidential ticket. Whoever flexes his political muscles, she can hastily dismiss him on insubordination grounds from the party like they did to the overambitious Benard Membe.
As far as we are concerned, CCM needs her more than she needs it but she needs voters more than we need her. We have alternatives to her but she cannot replace voters with civil servants like they did in the just concluded 2020 elections where NEC CCM stopped counting the votes and announced the results they wanted. The politics of 2025 will not permit that.
A prudent politician understands the law of demand and supply, and will pander and appease the voters but not her political rivals who are sniffing for an opportunity to derail her 2025 presidential ambition. She must have been thinking about her rivals in the cabinet when she forewarned them during their swearing in ceremony to desist from plotting to gun down the 2025 presidency.
So she need to change tact, and appoint new blood: more youth, women and fellow Zanzibarians in top most jobs. That will be a game changer and will endear herself to the electorate paving her way to reelection without the need to disenfranchise the electorate.
The likes of Mkuchika, PM, Kabudi, Nchemba, the veepstake, Lukuvi among others are not popular with voters but she has voluntarily stuck with them at the expense of jeopardizing her own popularity. Neither of these political deadwood can help her win the 2025 presidency nor can they win their own parliamentary seats unless CCM NEC stop counting the vote and declare them illegally into office. Is this the political terrain littered with booby traps she is opting for? For what....?????
Her mistake so far is the cowardice to strike the iron while it is very hot establishing herself as the sole CCM presidential candidate in 2025 from the word go, and that could have easily been attained through the purge of old guards and incompetent youth.
The opposition leverage in the 2025 is very much on the wane because their popularity in 2020 elections was solely upon the electorate resisting hapakazitu heavy hand on their shoulders. So the 2020 elections was a referendum on heavy tactics of hapakazitu and she is diametrically opposite to him. Depending on how successful she is to neutralize rival camps within CCM her 2025 presidential prospects are in her own sultry hands. If she is wise she can easily secure her political future by purging the deadwood now or she can weaken herself by maintaining the unpopular status quo..
