Next president of Tanzania has the big job of rousing Africa’s sleeping giant

i know they want to come out of Kenya that's the fact, reason being they are neglected!

Indeed the Kenyan somalis craved to secede from Kenya and to join Somalia. That was until two issues dawned on them:
1)the Kenya's capitalist system that guaranteed an individual the right to own property and businesses; these, as u know are well embedded within the somali DNA. Wasomali na biashara ni kama chanda na pete.
The socialist govt in Somalia then refused these privileges to its subjects.
2)the anarchy in Somalia that has forced millions to flee to Kenya.

Kenya regrets the marginalization of these communities during the eras of the previous regimes. That is why the policy of devolution was introduced to help address the development interests of the whole regions of Kenya.
Billions of shillings are allocated each year to all the counties in Kenya for purposes of development.

..the rebellion was brutaly defeated in the 70s but the sentiments to be part of greater somalia are still there.

Chances are we might be discussing the saaame thing!, in the next 10 yrs (a la Kikwete) if we still going to be under the lazy Giant zzm,.....it's infuriating!

Titunium and another mineral discovered in the same place will fetch kenya $100 billion US, investores already found, the necesary infrastructure is the one still in the process, wait another year or two then aks the same question. As we await 4 necesary structure for value addition, the 1st batch of titanium ore was exported last year fetching the company 300mln USD
so what makes a crime when Tanzania waits to exploit her's? where do stupid Kenyans get the audacity to say ours are wasted? while the deal on titanium is questionable! FYI the locals are getting nothing!

Nyie wakenya ukabila hamkuanza nao leo. Kwa hiyo acha kupindisha ukweli. Chunga sana aisee.

sam999, how did this statement make sense to u? I have read it, re-read it, tried to eliminate the probable errors but wapi... It's still gibberish to me.

U can always predict their next reply naeza ANZA thread and tag all of them with replies that will suit their needs

Belgium will support development projects in
Kwale County
Belgium
Ambassador in
Kenya Roxane de
Bilderling
yesterday told
Kwale County
Governor Salim
Mvurya that her
country will support projects in capacity
building, governance, as well as provision of
water and health services.
The envoy said Belgium already had some
ongoing projects in the County specifically for
capacity building and water and that the
embassy was willing to do more. She visited
the Governor in his office in Kwale Town.
She was on a familiarization tour of the
county and was received by the Governor,
Deputy Governor Fatuma Achani and County
Executive Committee Member for Finance and
Planning Bakari Sebe.
Governor Mvurya told the ambassador that the
county government had launched a Ksh33
million revolving fund targeted towards
economic empowerment of youth and women
groups.
Another project, he noted was that of boosting
health services through the upgrading of
health facilities and introduction of maternity
wings in the county’s dispensaries and health
centers.
Youth polytechnics in the county were also
focusing on specialized technical courses to
enhance capacity building among the youth
who are not able to join higher institutions of
learning, added the Governor.
Deputy Governor Fatuma Achani said
devolution had rekindled hopes among
communities but inadequate funds remained
one of the big challenges. There are budgetary
gaps that can be filled by willing partners and
donors so as to achieve faster economic
growth.

Main Storage Facilities
The storage facilities in the county are
traditional granaries for on-farm and NCPB
stores at Kwale town for off-farm. The county
NCPB store is mostly used for storage of
surplus cereals from the county and from
neighbouring counties.
Main Livestock Bred
Livestock production is the main economic
activity of the Nyika Plateau which receives
rainfall of below 700mm. The Nyika Plateau
covers about two thirds of the county.
According to the 2009 Census the population
of livestock stood at 255,143 cattle, 349,755
goats, 83,133 sheep and 433,827 indigenous
chicken. The main cattle breeds are Zebu and
Boran for beef and Crosses of Ayrshire and
Sahiwal for dairy.
Number of Ranches
There are 13 ranches in the county with an
average size of 15,055 Hectares. Out of these
five are company ranches and eight group
ranches most of which are in Kinango Sub-
county.
Main Fishing Activities
Kwale has abundant fisheries reserves along
the coastline. Major fish reserves include:
Shimoni, Vanga, Msambweni, Diani, and Tiwi.
There are 40 landing sites and the main types
of fish catch are Rabbit Fish, scavengers, Jack
Fish and King Fish. In addition, there are 338
fish ponds in the county and the number is
expected to go up because of the ongoing Fish
Farming Enterprise and Productivity
Programme under the Economic Stimulus
Programme (ESP).
Main Forest Types and Size of Forests
Kwale County does not have commercial
plantations. There is one rain forest that is
Shimba Hills Forest. There are a number of
indigenous forests commonly known as Kayas
which are sacred sites and are maintained by
the Miji Kenda Councils of elders. The size of
the gazetted forest is 350.45Km2 and
1900Km2 for non-gazetted forest.
Forestry is a major source of income, food and
medicine to local communities. The many
indigenous forests facilitate ecotourism by
providing tourists with nature trails, scenic
attraction, animal viewing, and bird and
butterfly watching. They also provide wood
and timber for construction purposes as well
as charcoal on which over 90 percent of rural
households depend. The mangrove forests
sustain bee-keeping that produces high
quality honey and provide shelter to some fish
species and oysters. Additionally, mangrove
poles are used in the making of fishing traps
and in construction. Forests also provide raw
materials for the manufacture of mosquito
repellents, tooth brushes, glue, dyes,
shampoos, soaps and rope.
Promotion of Agro-Forestry and Green
Economy
Most farmers have adopted agro-forestry and
green economy as a result of ongoing
promotion of agro-forestry and tree planting
sensitization programmes in the county. This
will reduce dependency on indigenous forest
for wood fuel. Kayas rehabilitation is ongoing
to maintain Kaya Catchment for ground water
rejuvenation as well as protection of Marere
Water Catchment in Shimba Hills Forest. There
is horticulture farming at Kubo and
Msambweni Division for both domestic
consumption and commercial use.

Wewe kweli kichwa maji.

Wewe huwa unajielewa kweli!! Hayo yameingiaje hum!

Ni nani alimuua T.Mboya? Mjaluo?
Well T. J. Mboya was referred to as ''the Alexander the Great of Kenyan Politics''. He was frighteningly intelligent, highly charismatic, very cosmopolitan and such a dazzling orator, able to speak in 7 Kenyan languages (including Kikikuyu) in addition to English and Kiswahili very immaculately. He had a lot of money and powerful connections within the White House, in the USA.
Those qualities endeared him to many an ordinary Kenyans, including the kikuyus. And it was those very qualities that caused the resentments and the insecurities among his fellow politicians. Yani the ,'why are u so big yet I am so small' kind of concerns.
The kikuyu politicians close to Kenyatta were worried that it was Mboya who was going to take over incase Kenyatta exits the scene. There was nothing they could do to stop him, cos he was very powerful and brilliant. They just had to kill him.

But the ordinary kikuyus in the street had great admiration for him.

Don't try to teach me the politics of the 60's era.

Kamukunji, then in was mainly inhabited by the kikuyus.
Even in the book Tom Mboya: The young man of new Africa revealed that fact. The opinion poll of 1960 showed him a well ahead of the other possible contenders of head of govt after independence, (Kenyatta was still in prison then). Mboya had 36% countrywide support, his closest rival James Gichuru at 22% while Oginga Odinga just had just 11% (no, he wasnt third) popularity.
