The Inspectorate of Government has arrested Ntare School headteacher Saul Rwampororo, his predecessor Jimmy Turyagyenda and former office typist Peace Kebirungi over an alleged government financial loss of Shs110.9 million and abuse of office.
Kebirungi also faces a charge of uttering a false university admission letter, which she allegedly used in October 2015 to obtain study leave with pay before abandoning her duties.
According to the Inspectorate, Kebirungi allegedly continued receiving a government salary from September 2015 to August 2024 despite not reporting for work.
The Inspectorate alleges that Turyagyenda concealed her absence before retiring, while Rwampororo continued the concealment during his tenure, allowing the payments to persist for nearly nine years.
During the same period, the two headteachers allegedly authorised allowance payments to Kebirungi despite her absence from duty.
The arrests follow investigations into the alleged irregular payments and abuse of office. The allegations remain subject to court proceedings.
