1993: President Ali Hassan Mwinyi, sends condolences to ANC President, National Chairman Oliver Tambo. In the condolences, President Mwinyi asked ANC President Mandela to pass to the family of late Tambo and all ANC members, his personal condolence and that of all Tanzanians.

President Mwinyi noted that the late Tambo had become part of us, having lived in Tanzania during his exile, for 30 long years.
