If a client wants to import any goods- they go to their bank and ask them to open an at sight letter of credit to the supplier. The client will have to give assets or collateral (same thing to their bank for them to do it. The seller will ship goods and get the bill of lading where the goods are loaded on vessel and he submits those and other loading documents to his bank and get paid on the shipment and the goods are on the way on the vessel to the client. Or a client can ask their bank to issue a deferred LC whereas the maturity for pay off is some date in future, 90 days, 120 days or up to a year. The majority of sellers want to be paid at sight and not wait to get paid. At Sight means at sight of the loading documents at loading port. Our finance specialist has the ability to take the deferred LC that pays off (matures) at some future date where as the supplier is paid at sight. When deferred LC matures then the finance entity collects on it .

We also do project finance, like infrastructure deals, construction deals of all types if the client (government or private) has a suitable guarantee, bank guarantee or other assets, or government guarantee also known as sovereign guarantee.
