A concerned parent has expressed frustration over the increasing arrests of headteachers in government schools for allegedly asking students to contribute money towards food and other school needs.
According to the parent, the arrests are disrupting the normal running of schools and creating fear among school administrators who are already struggling to manage institutions with limited resources. He argues that while education in government schools is intended to be free, the funding provided is often not enough to meet all operational needs, leaving schools with difficult choices.
The parent warned that continued arrests of headteachers could negatively affect the education sector, as school leaders may become hesitant to make decisions necessary for the welfare of learners. He maintained that schools cannot effectively produce quality learners without adequate funding to support essential services such as feeding programmes and scholastic materials.
