Petroleum(Exploration and Production) Act 1980

Tanzania has proven Natural Gas reserves of over 7 trillion cubic feet. Massive reserve by any standards, Unfortunately the petroleum 1980 act is extremely vague about exploitation of this all important resource. I have with me online version of the Act and believe me Natural Gas is not mentioned at all. Which begs question what law governs Exploration and production of Gas asilia?

Zitto, January and the co. were talking about the same issue recently, it look like there are some amendments in the act coming into effect next month or so which will define 'natural gas' within its realms...However, question is what about those firms which have already discovered natural gas while prospecting for oil....:hand:
