Wachina walijenga kigamboni under conventional or traditional procurement. Ni hela zetu zilijenga, wachina walikuwa ni mafundi tu.

What about the oil pipeline, the Ubungo overpass, the SGR, Nyakanaz – Kigoma power transmission line project et al?

Thanks that you know all these land mark projects.

These projects are implemented by conventional procurement. Upon the completion of the projects, they are handled to the URT.

Nchi nyingi au tuseme zote isipokuwa Bongo kuna tolls. Ukisafiri kila baada ya KM kadhaa inabidi ulipe toll siyo nyingi mfano US it is about 2.50us dollars, Thailand unalipa equivalent na 1 dollar, Myanmar ukienda vijiini unalipa about 1 us dollar lakini ni kila count yaani wilaya. Hizo pesa ndo zinasaidia miundombinu kuendelea. Barabara zipo safi kabisa. Siyo sisi unalazimishwa kulipa kwenye foleni tena mabasi tu. It does not work like that..

Ukiangalia maendeleo ya Kenya hasa sekta za real estates na infrastructures inaonyesha how nature is the economy kinyume na miradi ya zimamoto ya Tzn thus why utashangaa kamradi ka bilion 5 rais anazindua huku pambio zikiimbishwa nchi nzima, huwezi kuta Kenya kwenye uchumi mkubwa mambo ya kijinga kinga kama hayo

Loans. The key word is loans buddy.

The finances of these projects were mobilised through loans from different financial institutions (both banking and non banking financial institution).
A loan is a loan. Whether it is from the same source or different sources, you still have to pay it just like we will pay for the road. Fortunately for us, it is only the financially capable who will pay for it unlike you who the poor will bear the burden.

It's good that you came to understand that the financing arrangement for your toll road is a loan of it's own kind, not a free lunch as most of you believed in first place.

Unless you have a study which substantiate your last sentence, otherwise will be taken as a wishful thinking.

I never said it is not a loan................yes, it is a loan. No Kenyan believes it is free, we are not like you people. I am surprised you are making a big deal of it when almost all major projects in Africa (including Tanzania) are done with loans. Even your own BRT was done with a loan. Stop being hateful and appreciate this project.

Do I need a study to substantiate this claim?Only the expressway will be tolled and it is optional. It is people with cars who will pay to use it.............and that is if one wants to. You could use the other lanes with the car for free. This means only people who are financially capable will be paying to use this road.

It is good that you are correctly understnd the project. Le me remind one thing, if you compare a traditionally procured project which use the borrowed money from the financial institution is far cheaper compared to the PPP procured project. The reason for this is, in PPP the promoter of the project (private party) use or inject a portion of private equity in the spv. Normally the equity financing command high return as the private investor fear the risk that may strike his/her money. But another is, the investers like to maximise the shareholders wealth. So these are factors which triggers to the PPPs to be more expensive than the convensionally procured project.

The text in red,
All of your fellow Kenyans in here were dancing that they are going to have a free Chinese Cuisine. Go back to their posts, you will witness that.

Why are you concerned with which loans we take and why we do? You will soon realize that the difference is normally very small...........you always end up paying for the loan in the long run. The fact that you choose to spend so much time scrutinizing which type of loans we take whenever a project comes up in Kenya proves how scared you are of Kenya. As Kenyans, we choose a financing option that we are most comfortable with while you Tanzanians will choose that which you are most comfortable with - all options, of course, have their cons and pros. If you were really concerned about loans, you would criticize all those projects happening in Tanzania courtesy of loans............but you are always on the frontline boasting about them. Stop being hypocritical.

In bold, the Kenyans were merely being sarcastic and rubbing salt in your wounds due to the way you guys were reacting negatively to the project when everyone (including you even if you won't say it) can see that this is actually a good project and a nice step towards improving Nairobi's public and private transportation.

Can you quote any post by a Kenyan saying that the road is provided free and that Kenyans won't pay for it?
