President Kenyatta Under Heavy Criticism Regarding Garissa University Massacre

09.04.2015 at 5:26 pm By NAN

Political pressure mounted on President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday with scathing editorials and growing anger at a seven-hour delay in deploying a Special Forces Unit that eventually ended the bloody siege at Garissa University.

The Al Qaeda-aligned Al Shabaab group has now killed over 400 people in Kenya since Kenyatta took office in April 2013.

The critics said the killings have dented the East African nation’s image abroad and severely damaged its vital tourism industry.

I don't think Kenyans should worry about Tourism for now, That sector is dead and buried, the moment the started to mention about other nationalities other than Somalis attacking in Kenya. That made the whole Al shabab thing in Kenya an international travel concern. Now every nation will scan its citizens for valid reasons to travel to Kenya. This is already a big bummer, since Kenya strives on low quality mass tourism, the kind that fills its Mombasa lodges. Now who will believe a kid called mohammed ibn issa ibn omar traveling from Heathrow to Mombasa for tourism?who will let a group of backpakers leave Europe for Kenya?

It's regional tourism plan is even going to face tougher times since i am sure Tanzanian Authorities will not let young Tanzanians visit Kenya without proper explanation, so will Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.

If i were Uhuru i would put the nation in strict marshal law for a period of about 1-3 months to clean up any moles on the background.

During this period, no one should exit or enter Kenya without proper explanation and extreme scrutiny and surveilance, that will dry a lot of Alshabab cells.

But as it goes now, Alshaba could attack Kisumu or any other city in Kenya since its all business as usual.I find it stupid with the extra security they put in universities now, as if Alshabab has been known to attack the same type of area twice. First it was a Mall, then a market, then a bus, then a town, then a university, who knows, they could attack a hospital next or a factory or the damn parliament building.

Kenyan authorities needs to think fast, since it seems Alshabab is out thinking them.

But since he is Uhuru Kenyatta, he will do nothing, promise empty measures, hit a few shells in the Somalian desert and pretend Al shabab is dead, next it will be Alshab "MP" opening fire in the parliament killing dozens of politicians.

Yes, this is a serious flaw to the Kenya government. I am also asking myself why did the Kenya Defence Ministry not take heed to the alarm bells. If the government had taken the warnings seriously and acted accordingly I think that the Garissa University would have received the most intensive protection given its geographical location in relation to the Kenya/Somalia border and the history of numerous militant attacks to the region compared to other parts of the country.

What's the blame game for?? it will not bring back the lost lives instead they should focus and pour their energy's on constructive critism which will curb the menace! Eiiiiiish politics sucks

Woooow it really bothers some pple ingia instagram na utajua bado tourism kenya iko...
