Nilikuwa naongea na Mtanzania mwingine. Alikuwa ananiambia ati serikali yao inawapa maji ya bure, healthcare ya bure na shamba ya bure. Ndio nikaelewa mbona hawa watu wako na akili malenge. They are lazy because their government has spoilt them with free goodies all the time. This is the problem rich parents face, spoiling your kids with free goodies until they become lazy.

MY TAKE
What a wastage of opportunities! Dar should try to learn a thing from 26 km Lahore metro with her plan for commuter trains!

To be fair enough it is my first time to see a viaduct highway in most European cities there is metro viaduct instead of highway viaduct.

I hope no Kenyan will defend oneself on the pretext that no reliable power to have EMUs as Lahore since an option for DMU metro train could also do a difference too!

i) Lahore is in pakistan which is in asia not europe
ii) Nairobi already has a 400 km commuter rail from decades ago of which 200 km has been reconstructed and the rest of 200 km is currently under reconstruction and will be ready next year with about 29 more stations. Lahore did not have such a good rail coverage in it's metro area same with addis ababa.(The british had planned Nairobi and it's metro area way back).
iii) Our dmus from spain are more comfortable and faster than the addis emus and more comfortable than the emus in lahore. Ony 26 km of commuter rail is nothing to 200 km of commuter rail in Nairobi which is phase i, phase ii will bring another 200 km, and phase iii will bring in 150 km of new track and 550 km of new double track.

Geza anadhani tunacheza. By the time phase 3 inaisha Kenya itakuwa na one of the most advanced public transportation systems in Africa. If you also include BRT and the new line from JKIA to Cbd

Sasa umepata tofauti ya na Mtzee?
Kenyans we are taught from a young age at home and at school to always want more. Never be comfortable with where you are but strive to be more. That is why immediately you go into nursery your parents and their friends always ask what you want to be in the future.
In school we are taught cut throat competition to be the best, that is why a lot of Kenyan parents pay dearly for home tuition during school holidays for their children to be the best.

True Nairobi will actually have a better public transportation system than american cities. I have been to New York and their trains are quite a sordid sight.

Recently I passed through Thika road heading to Meru and I realized our Buses might really not need an elaborate station system. I noticed the new foot bridges they are installing have platforms, toilets and rooms on the service lanes. My guess is the service lanes might actually be used as bus lanes which is what happens in europe. They do not try to copy the commuter rail with buses, but they use pre-existing facilities where buses have a right of way. I think this is the direction Nairobi is heading too and not the bogota or Dar way where they tried copying a commuter rail with a BRT.

This was confirmed by Charles Hinga, who said the commuter rail will be the backbone of transport in Nairobi. in fact I think Nairobi will see it's first commuter rail viaduct on the planned Nairobi central station-Kangemi route which will pass through westlands (According to the world bank document on the Nairobi commuter rail).

Unajua i believe in the theory that shida brings out the best in us...it makes you get creative or ruthless.

Look at the warrior tribes of the past, they have something in common. Empires that brought forth civilization etc.

Huku Afrrica ilikuwa hunter gatherer lifestyle for most areas see how we ended up,perfect weather etc😂

Adversity will force you to get creative to survive
