Yes! I first saw them on the BBC Focus on Africa program. That is when I first knew that there's a symphony orchestra in Dar.yah nimekuelewa.upo sahii.

it's a group of different professionals who do classical music in dar.
very talented and well organized classical music performers in tanzania and east africa(I'm not sure about east africa though)

In Kenya we have a number of classical orchestras, the oldest, and probably the most reknowned is the Nairobi Philharmonic Ochestra, in existence since 1947.
