DANGOTE
FLOWER FARMS etc are getting torched and returning to kenya

A cement factory in Ethiopia’s Oromia region owned by Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote was on Tuesday torched by angry protesters, the government said.
Local media said the protesters were angered by the death of over 50 people during a stampede at a religious festival by the Oromo people on Sunday. Several others were injured during the incident.
Thousands had gathered for the religious festival in Bishoftu, 40 kilometres from the capital Addis Ababa.
During the attack on the factory located in Ada Berga, reports said the protesters descended on factory trucks and machinery at the cement factory and burnt them.
A pro-opposition Amharic-language website, ZeHabesha.com, was quoted by the BBC as reporting that the protesters even freed prisoners after setting ablaze a police station in the Bule Hora area.
A court and government-owned vehicles were also torched, the report said.

Asante, umenifunza kitu kuhusu Ethiopia ambacho sikukijua siku zote, maana huwa sielewi iweje nchi ambayo inapiga hatua kiuchumi halafu kila wakati watu wake wanakamatwa ndani ya makontena wakiitoroka nchi.

ETHIOPIA
Trucks and machinery belonging to the Dangote group was attacked by protesters in Ethiopia’s Oromia region. The attacks followed a deadly stampede at a festival over the weekend.

The attack which took place in the town of Ada Berga targeted the cement factory owned by Africa’s richest man Nigerian Aliko Dangote.

The state owned Fana Broadcasting Corporate said, the Oromia Regional State had earlier reported that lives were lost and property damaged in some areas of the state, apparently in reprisal to the incident over the weekend.

Local media added that a court building and government-owned vehicles were also torched.

Ethiopia’s Oromia region continues to witness protests after Sunday’s Irrecha thanksgiving festival by natives was reportedly dispersed by the security forces.

The ensuing stampede led to deaths of at least 55 people. The government denies claims by activists that security forces opened fire at the festival, causing the stampede.

Among the thousands of festival participants, a number of them marched chanting anti-government slogans and their arms crossed above their heads.

The Oromia region lies south of the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and is the center of the Oromia protests last year which Human Rights Watch reported that over 400 protesters were killed.

Dangote cement is Africa’s largest cement company with plants in Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Zambia, Tanzania & South Africa.

The Oromo are the largest ethnic group both in Ethiopia and Eastern Africa, consisting of more than a third of Ethiopia’s 100 million people. However, the group has been marginalised and discriminated against by subsequent Ethiopian governments. Oromo culture and identity have been stigmatised and pushed into the periphery of country’s national life, while Oromo history has been filtered out of public memory. The ethnic animosity boiling is scary to imagine, ni kama maharage yanavotokota ndani ya chungu.

The guy has nothing to loose hapo insuarance itamlipa mapesa mengi huo ndio uzuri wa kuwa mfanyabiashara mkubwa coz he is aware ameinvest sehem ambyo instability ipo so hawez invest hvi hvi
