Great thinkers:
The following premises are held to be true.
1. The Constitution of Tanzania was written by a group of few men, who haphazardly drafted the holy document without whatsoever even involving a small minority of Tanganyikans. This document closely followed the preceeding legal documents in use under colonial rule as a British Protectorate.
2. After union with Zanzibar, this document was modified to accommodate the Union. It still remains a mystery whether the Articles of the Union were incorporated in this revamped Constitution. It also remains doubtful whether the Articles of the Union actually exist, and Tanzanians still wonder why this document has been kept hidden from the public. Again, the citizenry of Tanganyikans was never consulted on the drafting of the Constitution of the Union.
3. Both constitutions set the agenda of the structure and formation on how we, Tanganyikans and later Tanzanians, would be ruled. They set the foundation of our British-styled Government, with its political system borrowing heavily from Marxist and Maoist ideologies, whereby under a one-party system, the Chairman of the Party was the absolute supreme leader.
4. As the origins of the Constitution and our form of Government are colonial, thus putting in power African Colonists, and as we were never involved in the drafting of both constitutions, why then...
1. Have we succumbed to the pressures of the same colonial government, into thinking and believing that by participating, this time, drafting of a New Constitution, we will be free?
2. What is stopping us from throwing out this illegal form of government and its sham constitution and forming our own unique and self-styled Government and Constitution?
3. Why have we allowed ourselves into being hoodwinked and believing that what you have signed for is our ticket to our freedom, while the reality is otherwise?
