Anapendekeza mfumo ambapo, chama chenye wabunge wengi kiunde serikali

tatizo liko wapi hapo morinyo?

ujinga mtupu, katiba imeandikwa juzi tu, leo anataka kuiweka kiraka

Tatizo liko hapa kakangu.

Mwanzo kabisa before 2005, when he was only popular among his Luo tribe, he advocated for parliamentaly system, where the president would be 'elected' by Members of parliament. He knew he stood a chance throgh that route.
Came 2005 constitution referendum, he led the Orange camp to defeat the then proposed constitution, they were then in the same camp with Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ili mabadiriko kama haya ya fanyike, itabidi wakenya waende kwa referendum spending billions of money, all in the name of kusibisha tamaa za huyu jamaa. Its honestly crazy!

It's serious now Raila needs wise advisors around.

He will talk himself to irrelevance unless Uhuruto f###s up big time.

He will talk himself to irrelevance unless Uhuruto f###s up big time.

This is it,,,unless UhuRuto mess everything,,,,,Raila Odinga is no more.

Why why,,,,, now,,eti,, presidential system,,when the constitution we made is not,,even
five years old and when,,,he had all the power and means to make it happen
when making this constitution we have,,,now.

The true picture of the,,,real Raila Odinga,,,,,,,,,is now,,coming out.

Let all those who sees Raila Odinga as a reformist,,,open their eyes and see clearly
what this 'great reformist' is,,all about.

It is all about Raila Odinga,,himself and nothing about this country.

Even if you are a reformist,,do you keep reforming,,,everyday,,even something you just
reformed,,yesterday.Yaawa,,,,hiiii,,,imezidi saaaaaana.

After loosing,,heavily,,,just some two months ago,,,now he
want the system changed,,,why,,,,because he loves this country???

Noway,,,,because he loves himself.

But very mistaken,,,,,for,,even if we had used,,that system he is talking
about now,,,,still,,,he would be out in the woods.

The presidential candidate for Jubilee would be the one on the driving
seat.

And also,,,that parliamentary system is not for a country like Kenya,,
where members of parliament can wake up one day and raise their
salaries.

The same parliamentary system he is talking about,, has been creative
havoc in countries with more experience and not toddlers like us,,,see what
has been happening in Italy,,what about in Kenya,,where you cannot tell
the difference between a reformist and selfishness.

If UhuRuto makes a difference,,in this country,,,then Raila Odinga is
no more,,kwisha kabisa and no trick will ever salvage him.

He is out in the cold and he should not blame the system,,,for
a good driver,,,will drive any car,,and anywhere.

He is an old tactician,,,completely out of pace with the times. Let him,,
peacefully,,,face the reality that he is no more and spare himself,,,,,,
more embarrassment.

We are now,,in new times,,,no more Kibakis,,,no more Kalozos and
no more Railas,,thanks god,,for making this,,,,happen.

It would have only been fair if you had provided a link to this story and let people reach their own conclusions. Trying to insinuate that Raila is advocating for a change in the constitution is dishonest and malicious as you can get. As many your kind try to insinuate all over the social media that 'Raila ni raia'...let the man air his opinions without fear please.

Below is what Raila said...and nowhere does he say the constitution should be changed. This is an individual airing his views but because some of you are so obsessed to demonise Raila, you just run with it. Then understand the context upon which is Raila is coming from...he was talking to the larger Africa having coming from the Time's Africa CEOs summit in the UK where he and Koffi Annan had been speakers.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has called for the adoption of a parliamentary system of government saying it offers Kenya's best solution to tribalism.

Mr Odinga discredited the presidential system saying it was divisive and only served to entrench tribalism and the big man syndrome.

"We need parliamentary democracy where the party with a majority of MPs forms the government. It is the only way through which a person from a small community like the Maasai or Samburu can ascend to power. It is a system which has worked very well in mature democracies all over the world," Mr Odinga said.

"It is something which needs to be debated here in Kenya as we go forward."

Speaking at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) upon arrival from the UK where he had gone to attend the "Times Africa CEO's Summit" on investment opportunities on the continent,
Mr Odinga said that Africa was gradually transiting from military dictatorship and one party rule to multi-party system and it is imperative that systems that support democracy are entrenched.

"Africa is moving away from the big man syndrome, the days of Mr president, the big man so that when one runs for the presidency, his community thinks he is our candidate," Mr Odinga noted.

Mr Odinga and Ghanaian president Johnh Dramani Mahama were the key speakers during the Summit organised by the Times of London.

The former PM also called for reforms in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) saying it could no longer be trusted to conduct a free and fair General Election.

"We had a lot of evidence showing the misconduct of IEBC, even the court said that IEBC should be investigated. This IEBC must be reformed, Kenyans cannot afford to go into another election with this IEBC," he maintained.

He also hit out at Supreme Court for expunging the evidence he had adduced to prove that the March 4 presidential election was not free and fair.

"Remember that 800 pages of our evidence was struck out with a stroke of the pen. Then the same court goes ahead to say that there was no evidence, is this justice or injustice," Mr Odinga wondered.

"When the Chief Justice says he is offended, he should know that there are Kenyans out there who are more offended than him."

Sasa Daktari, Mungu katupea akili za nini?

How else can the system be changed if not through amending the constitution?

My point is Raila has introduced a debate for Kenyans to partake in. That does not necessarily mean that the idea will be taken up b parliament. I reiterate again, Raila is speaking like the common man and he should not be demonised for his comments as I see many in this thread doing. Unless you want to tell me that the common mwananchi is not entitled to his/her opinion?

Whether the statement was issued for 'debate' or not is not the issue, the point is he proposes the change of the system.

A more objective way to look at it is
1.Why now?
2.Is the parliamentary system the solution to the problem of tribalism?

Kwani huoni hii trend, hata wakenya wakikubali mabadiriko ifanyike, others will quickly adopt to the new system, ashindwe na mwishowe bila haya umsikie akisema presidential system irejelewe.
