RAILA reveals SECRET MEETINGS between UHURU/ RUTO’s group and Supreme Court and MEDIA favouring them

- The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) is now accusing the Supreme Court registry and the media of working with the Jubilee coalition to retrieve replied affidavits from the court registry and amending them.


In a statement leaked to the press on Saturday, CORD alliance which is associated with Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, said some top officials from the Supreme Court have been spotted in secret locations with members of the Jubilee Alliance, a thing which they said may affect the Supreme Court’s verdict expected late next week.


At the same time, CORD also accused the Nation Media Group (NMG) and Standard Group of swaying the public opinion against the CORD petition after they highlighted IEBC's response to CORD petition.


They said journalists from the two major media houses are swaying the public opinion by writing articles that favour Jubilee Alliance in the petition.


CORD alliance last week filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as the fourth President of Kenya by the IEBC on March 9[SUP]th[/SUP].


The ruling of the petition is expected not later than Friday next week.

Sunday March 24, 2013 - Lands Minister James Orengo has claimed that Prime Minister Raila Odinga was not consulted during a military goodbye by President Mwai Kibaki on Friday, which saw him bid farewell as their Commander –in- Chief.


Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Orengo who is also Siaya County Senator- elect, said President Kibaki's move paints a picture of a man who is in a hurry to hand over power even before the Supreme Court dispenses justice with Prime Minister Raila Odinga's petition.


"What happens if the Supreme Court rules that there is a fresh election and the incumbent is forced to remain in office for another 60 days? His powers as the Commander-in-Chief would have been greatly diminished in the eyes of the military, which has already bid him goodbye," Orengo said.


Orengo also said President Kibaki's move of handing power to President elect- Uhuru Kenyatta may undermine the Supreme Court's ruling expected this Friday.


"The over-enthusiasm with which the (Assumption of the Office of the President) Act is being implemented amounts to undermining the authority of the Supreme Court because it is creating an impression that there is no challenge to the Presidential election; that it is a fait accompli," said Orengo who is former Ugenya MP.


He said the forces of impunity from the Office of the President are hurriedly carrying things to hoodwink Kenyans that things are okay and the Raila Odinga's petition at the Supreme Court is a waste of time.
