This fixture has been in the making for a while now after being previously postponed due to Los Blancos' World Club Cup triumph in December. Since then, Carlo Ancelotti's men have been fending off the league pursuit of both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but tonight gives them the opportunity to extend their one-point advantage at the summit of La Liga.

POST MATCH ANALYSIS
Today Real Madrid played its remaining fixture from December which we had missed due to the Club World Cup.3 points today assured that RMD stays 4 points clear at the top of the table.We will talk about the performance and stats of the team below.

DEFENCE:
Real Madrid had a shaky start again and it needs some attention from Ancelotti.Madrid nearly conceded a 3rd minute goal when Sevilla's attacker was through on goal but Casillas came up with a top save.Ramos was subbed off my due to over stretching early in the game.Nacho came on and played really well.Varane was leading our defence in Ramos' absence and he proved his worth of a very fine young defender.Arbeloa was very very good tonight.His experience is the key in his good performances.Marcelo assisted our first goal for James but was booked unfairly TBH and will probably miss out the Derby against Atletico.But I think Real Madrid might appeal for his yellow card to be rescinded.

MIDFIELD:
Isco and Kroos played well,they always give their 100% but Khedira was the star of our midfield tonight.He had a really good game. He was the old German tank in the centre of the field and stood strong as a rock.

ATTACK:
Benzema,Bale and James started as our front 3 tonight and James scored a stunning diving header after meeting Marcelo's superb cross which found him alone.James was the subbed off for reasons unknown and Jese wad brought on who scored the winning goal for Real Madrid after a very good move from Benzema n Isco.Benzema didn't score but was really good and sharp in playmaking and he is so unselfish which makes him one of his kind.Bale was disappointing tonight,he is such a good player but seems to have lost his confidence, I hope he scores against Atletico to shut the critics up.
3 important points in Ronaldo's absence ensure that Real Madrid stays on top of La Liga table.
