Schalke 04 0-2 Real Madrid

A 2 goals lead taken by Real Madrid away from home in Germany against Schalke ensures that the whites are in the driving seat of the tie of round of 16 and should be comfortable to play against Schalke in the Bernabeu.Real Madrid isnt playing as well as they were in the start of the season honestly.

DEFENSE:
Carvajal was good tonight in attack as well as defense and made some really good tackles and recoveries.Carvajal's crossing is really good and he assisted Ronaldo with the first goal of Real Madrid. Pepe and Varane paired at the heart of the defense and were solid throughout the game.Marcelo needs no praise, he is always playing his heart out and scored the second goal to give us a cushion for the tie at the Bernabeu.Casillas wasn't involved much but he was solid on a rebound off the post.

MIDFIELD:
Silva,Isco and Kroos played well in the mid today.Lucas Silva wasn't very amazing tonight but he fought hard and showed comitment to win the ball several times.Kroos was good defensively as well as in threading his passes.Isco was brilliant as always.He has really grown up as a player.

ATTACK:
Ronaldo scored Real Madrid's first and looked better than the past weeks but he is still not at this very best yet.Benzema was Ok but he needs to time his runs better and polish his first touches.Bale was good but he isn't passing the ball well in the final third well.
Anyways a good lead ensures that Real Madrid has one leg in the Quarter Finals.
