Reli ya Kenya ambayo technology yake ndio iliyotumika kujenga reli ya TAZARA miaka ya 1960 imekua ikilalamikiwa na wananchi wa kenya hasa kwenye gharama na aina ya reli hiyo ambayo wanaona kama wametapeliwa.

The TAZARA Railway, also called the Uhuru Railway or the Tanzam Railway, is a railroad in East Africa linking the port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania with the town of Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia's Central Province. The single-track railway is 1,860 km (1,160 mi) long and is operated by the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority(TAZARA).

The governments of Tanzania, Zambia and China built the railway to eliminate landlocked Zambia's
economic dependence on Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and South Africa, both of which were ruled by white-minority governments.[1] The railway provided the only route for bulk trade from Zambia's Copperbelt to reach the sea without having to transit white-ruled territories

The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bombardier Transportation, the rail equipment division of the Canadian firm Bombardier Inc., to explore possibilities of investment cooperation.

As one of the strategies for repositioning ourselves towards boosting our haulage capacity, on 6th September 2017 in Dar es Salaam, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bombardier Transportation to explore possibilities for investment cooperation.

With access to possible international funding options to support the revitalization of TAZARA, Bombardier Transportation has offered a preliminary turnkey solution for TAZARA to increase efficiency and capacity in the areas of track, rolling stock, signalling and telecommunications.

Following the signing of the MoU, we shall now create a joint team to undertake a feasibility study that will define and agree on the scope of the partnership, after which Bombardier Transportation will submit a full technical and financial proposal for our consideration.
