And thats why I am speaking about Tarrifs not offers. Tigo vodacom etc also have offers that include free whatsapp, instagram facebook etc (The biggest data consuming apps) Which Safaricom Does not offer for free. The other companies in kenya offering free social media are all loss making, trying to attract customers with such offers. So Talk about tarrifs
Free Whatsapp is a matter of perception. You must first buy a bundle for you to get that free Whatsapp or FB.
And everything 'free' has a catch. Most likely they cap the speeds drastically.
Bundles always offer the superior experience, and in my experience, once you've exhausted the bundles and entered the 'free fb' phase, more often than not you're forced to buy more gb to return to normal speeds.
Plus on Tigo I've seen the free stuff comes starting with the weekly bundle. Watu wengi ni wa reja reja, buying bundles daily.
In short, Tanzanians spend the same or slightly less than Kenyans for internet.
The Safaricom 'High' pricing you've been mentioning as reason for its profit has just been in your imagination. It is only slightly higher than your Tigo and Vodacom.
