Safaricom can't afford Ethiopia's fee for an operation licence

A hotel costs about Ksh1 - 2 billion.
That's half what SK Macharia paid for his Citizen license.
hotels, ferries, estates, manufacturing industries and Azam Tv are all parts of Bakhresa Group conglomerate.... and all belongs to Bakhesa.. you cant compare him with macharia😂

Citizen TV ni channel ya Kenya. Unasahau hio.

Why shouldn't they? Which businessperson will resist venturing into the ripe Ethiopian telecom market with >100 million people?
Not that I'm sure they will but from my POV I don't think they can pass such an opportunity.
if they have enough muscles to go alone with other partners from SA to support them then forget it!

And Ethiopian market will be waiting for u to do a 1.5 years of profit, right?

Why not. They have already waited decades to enjoy the same services Kenyans enjoy.
Also, many of these huge fees are paid over several years, not all at once.

Thats very poor logic!! Sk macharia net worth is only ksh 40 billion.. while Bakhersa is ksh 55 billion... he is by far richer than your macharia....about being a LDC or middle income country that doenst matter in calculating ones net worth.. Dewji is A Tanzanian( he comes from the LDC as you call us)but he is no 12 richest person in the continent and no 1 youngest billionaires

SK Macharia gets his net worth from his media company, particularly Citizen TV.

Bakhersa sells like a hundred things, of which Azam TV is just one of them.

That tells you individually, Azam TV does not come close to Citizen TV.

the question is will Vodacom SA accept partnering with Safaricom?
Remember Safaricom bought the Intellectual Property rights of MPESA source code. So it will be easier and cheaper for Vodacom to deploy MPESA in Ethiopia with Safaricom as their partner. And it will be easier for Safaricom to enter into Ethiopia with Vodacom's financial muscle and experience of venturing into foreign markets so its a win-win.

Macharia also deals with estate.. stop.lying us... All his channels are in Azam TV decorder...that shows how small are his channel.. have you ever seen Azam Channels in any other decorder? MACHARIA paid kes 2 billion for his whole Royal media..while Azam Tv pays almost kes 10 billion to oparate in more than 10 countries.. Can citize tv secure televison rights for La liga let alone FA cup.. it cant.. thats why it is only Azam and DSTV that do that in the SADC region

ati? Name them those 4 times number of 5 star in Tanzania! Zanzibar gives a ride for its money as Nirobi's bragging right r concerned! That Radisson group is putting up not less than 3 facilities in Tanzania!

evidence here !
