Safaricom wazindua uwezo wa kupokea hela kwenye Mpesa kutokea Paypal

Safaricom wazindua uwezo wa kupokea hela kwenye Mpesa kutokea Paypal

Tanzania was the first country to offer money transfer over other networks (interoperability). Mijinga inasema tupo nyuma bila utafiti.
Mkuu, mimi ni mtanzania mwenzako, ila hapa sio ishu ya kutransfer money over other networks within the border. Hii ishu is about Paypal to Mobile, kampuni mbili nchi tofauti. Wenzetu Kenya saiv wanaweza kutoa hela zao FROM PAYPAl to their MOBILE, sisi Tanzania hatuwezi hata kutoa hela FROM PAYPAL to OUR BANK ACCOUNTS!!! achilia mbali simu..... Serikali na bankers walitizame hili.....

Hizi ni money transfer services. They dont offer the same opportunity as Paypal.

Kwa mfano, unakuta kazi online labda part time inalipa lakini only via paypal, unakuta wewe paypal yako huwezi kutoa hizo hela. Pia online shopping. Mfano wewe ni seller ebay, most people in ebay prefer paying via paypal.

In short Moneygram, western union is not PayPal alternative yet.

You Dont seem to understand, once a payment service provider develops and publishes its API( application programming interface) Other payment providers can intergrate their services. Why Tz Mobile payment is intergrated with moneygram & western union and not paypal is not lack of technology, but possible lack of commercial intrest

That's the logic I wanted them to get! And I am pretty sure it won't take long for even this PayPal service to be adopted by Vodacom being a subsidiary of Vodafone the owner of Mpesa.

The other thing is Tigo and Selcom r the leading mobile companies in the region when it comes to soft tech innovations unfortunately people don't seem to see that.

how about Selcom that offered online payment services long ago in the region? Not alternative? And if not, how long do u think it will take for that PayPal service to be adopted by Vodacom Mpesa being a Vodafone product n Vodacom just like Safaricom being both Vodafone subsidiaries?

Don't get too excited on services that have existed for years in Tanzania n later across the region via Selcom as a pioneer.

These Fools realy dont get it. Technology for interoperability existed in Tz telecoms by 2014. Money gram & western union saw commercial opportunity and invested, If paypal has not yet found this Tech commercially profitable, thats their problem not the problem of Tz Telecoms, and definately has nothing to do with innovation or lack of it.

Kuna hili pia Telcom Kenya wame-adopt pia, selcom came up with this App! Kesho Safaricom waki-adopt hell breaks loose!

Vodacom joined Tigo, Airtel and Zantel in a pioneering interoperability scheme for mobile money in Tanzania.

In 2014, Tigo, Airtel and Zantel agreed to enable their customers to send and receive money across their networks. After announcing it would join last year, Vodacom has now implemented the scheme.

Tanzania becomes Africa’s first country with full interoperability for P2P money transfers, according to a statement issued by three of the operators.

Interoperability means more traffic and hence revenue, at least that’s the argument of Tigo, Airtel and Zantel, which have seen off-network transactions grow 3.5 times since 2014.

Tanzania, like neighbouring Kenya, is a case study for mobile money with high usage levels. There are more than 16 million mobile financial users in Tanzania.

Mkuu, its not about commercial interest kabisa kwenye suala la Paypal na TZ bankers. Mbona ndipo penye interest zaidi hapo. Hebu tizama leo online shops wanatumia which payment processor? Huoni kama kungekuwa na eBay seller from Tanzania wenye kupokea malipo kupitia paypal na wakatoa hela from paypal zikenda kwenye bank zao? This issue is more of a regulations, kati ya Paypal na sheria za Tanzania zinazohusu masuala ya hela. Kwanini tuweze kutoa hela tusiweze kuingiza hela kutumia paypal?

We cant withdraw in any way our money from Paypal, hakuna ubaya kuishauri serikali na bankers walitizame hili.

My Point is, the reason for paypal not intergrating with Tz Mobile Payment solutions is not because of lack of technology or lack of innovation. Its either a regulation issue or commercial viability issue. And since other platforms like MoneyGram are already intergrated, then it definately cant be a regulation issue.

Tanzania tupo slow sana money transfer kwenda nje. Western union transfer kulikuwepo regulation kibao. Baadaye safaricom vodacom IMT regulators wameruhusu shingo upande.

Nakuelewa sana unachomaanisha na it's a matter of time within next six months itakuwepo hiyo huduma. Look out for Selcom with a similar product using Selcom cards via Mastercard platform. I also see Tigo doing that aside Vodacom.

It is definitely a regulation issue between the government and the payment processor not a commercial issue at all.

Imagine if Hotels in Tanzania were able to withdraw their cash from Paypal account. You think there would be a need for a 3gdirectpay service hapa?
