Safaricom can not enter Tanzania because of Vodacom, when Vodafone was swapping their share to Vodacom that was one of the agenda safaricom and Vodacom can not operate in the same market as different entities, Vodacom controls Tanzanian market, safaricom can enter uganda, though in some markets like DRC where Vodacom is already there safaricom will enter through mpesa and not as voice service provider.

I think they should now put more effort on their cloud platform offering. If they invest enough and offer more than static virtual machines. They can actually grab the developers in Kenya and Africa who are majorly hosting their applications on Amazon and Microsoft Azure.

Microsoft was late to the cloud game but they put in a lot of money and skill into the product and their Q2 earning from Azure cloud platform hit $50 billion.

safaricom can invest in the cloud offerings and market it across africa to developers that will bypass any agreement they have now with Vodacom and vodafone.
