Ukrainian troops carried out a unique operation on the territory of the Kursk region. They simultaneously captured 102 Russian soldiers. These Russian soldiers were not going to surrender because they had enough weapons and food, but they had no choice, if they wanted to survive.
Among the Russian military personnel who were captured are representatives of the Chechen unit. These are the soldiers that Russia is interested in bringing back. Already today, the Russian side has requested an exchange of prisoners. This is the first time during a full-scale war that the Russians are interested in an exchange. This is very good, since there are more than a thousand Ukrainians in Russian captivity for whom Ukraine is ready to make an exchange.
Ukraine treats captured Russian soldiers in accordance with all international standards, giving access to international organizations. During the entire period of the full-scale war, Russia has not allowed any international organizations access to Ukrainian prisoners of war, while using severe torture and not providing normal medical care or food.
