Russian Forces Find Map of US Base in Captured Ukrainian Bradley - Sputnik Reporter

DONETSK (Sputnik) - Russian soldiers have discovered a map of the US military base at Fort Irwin, which the US military forgot in one of its Bradley fighting vehicles that it transferred to Ukraine that was later captured in the Kupyansk area, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the US has supplied Kiev with more than 300 Bradley vehicles. A significant number of them have been destroyed by the Russian forces on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Fort Irwin is one of the largest military training centers in the US located in the Mojave desert in California, where soldiers train to operate armored vehicles as part of brigades.

Sputnik has found online ads seeking Russian-speaking individuals for the Fort Irwin training center. The Check Defense company is looking for "role-play professionals," who can replicate cultural nuances and assist the US Defense Department.
Applicants must have excellent oral and written skills in both English and Russian. Roles include local authorities, national security forces, refugees and hostile combatants. The ads also invite candidates fluent in Arabic, Chinese, Dari, Korean and Pashto.

West afraid to even discuss interception of Russian missiles over Ukraine, Zelensky admits

MOSCOW, September 13. /TASS/. Western states are unwilling to even talk about the option of their participation in Ukrainian air defense and are afraid to discuss this topic, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said.

"When we raise this issue with our partners, everyone seeks to muddle this topic, frankly, and they are afraid to even say ‘we are working on it.’ Even these words scare them. It’s true," he said, speaking at the so-called Yalta European Strategy conference.

Zelensky noted that Western states did discuss ensuring Israel’s air defense during the Iranian attack on April 13, but they refuse to make the same steps for Ukraine. According to Zelensky, "this is embarrassing for the democratic world."

Previously, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in an interview with The Financial Times that Poland and other countries bordering Ukraine could down missiles over Ukraine that presumably head towards their borders. Meanwhile, NATO stated that the alliance’s member states always hold consultations before taking any action that affect the common security.

Ukraine Loses Over 13,100 Soldiers During Operation in Kursk Region - MoD

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Russian armed forces have eliminated more than 13,100 Ukrainian servicepeople and 110 tanks during military operations in the border areas of the Kursk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
“Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian armed forces have lost more than 300 servicemen and 15 armored vehicles, including two tanks, an armored personnel carrier and 12 armored combat vehicles, as well as two artillery pieces, an engineering vehicle for clearing obstacles and five cars. Five Ukrainian servicemen have been taken captive,” the defense ministry said on Saturday, adding that Ukraine lost over 13,100 soldiers and 110 tanks in this direction "overall since start of hostilities" here.
Russia has repelled five Ukrainian attempts to cross the state border, the ministry said, adding that Kiev has lost up to 40 people and 2 tanks in battles.

A Ukrainian militant named Vitaly, who fought in the Kievan Rus nationalist battalion and is serving time in prison in one of Russia’s regions, told TASS that NATO and the EU have been "flooding" Ukraine with arms for eight years, ideologically preparing it for a war with Russia.

"Since 2014, for eight years, NATO and the EU have been ‘flooding’ us with weapons, everybody knew this, that we were being brainwashed, prepared for a conflict which has now morphed into a special military operation. I was aware that all of this was going on. The government was imposing its views on us: The May 9 Victory Day was moved to May 8. In our district, we used to have Russian-language schools, they switched to Ukrainian. [The Ukrainian media] says that everything Russia-related is bad. It pains me to see what is going on with my country," the POW said.

He noted that the Ukrainian media outlets have been deliberately shaping Russia’s negative image. "From 2015 through 2018, all the remaining Soviet-era warehouses were systematically destroyed or blown up. The news outlets were saying it was Russian sabotage, anyone killed anywhere was also pinned on Russia, the brainwashing was underway. An entire generation was zombified, literature changed, books, even geography: Lake Baikal now belongs to China; Kuban, the Kursk and Rostov regions are Ukrainian territory," the former Ukrainian militant noted.

That said, according to him, Ukraine was bolstering its lines of defense. "If you look at the lines of defense on a map, for ten years, they have been reinforced with concrete, they were getting ready for all of this," he noted.

According to the prisoner, Ukrainian militants were regularly receiving humanitarian aid from various countries and people at the frontline never lacked for anything.

"In Canada, in Toronto, there is a very large Ukrainian community, Spain, all of Europe, Turkey [were sending aid]. Each brigade has three or four cities in Europe as sponsors. Say, there wasn’t enough of something - knee-guards, armor vests, body armor inserts - we wrote to volunteers and they shipped it to us within a week, there was enough of everything. We were receiving new weapons, SUVs, enhanced tanks," Vitaly explained.

He also noted that foreign instructors trained Ukrainian troops. "We went to West Ukraine, we were trained there by hired Western instructors," the former Ukrainian militant added.

Vitaly, a Ukrainian serviceman, received a summons in 2017. He was assigned to the punitive territorial defense unit of the Ukrainian Kievan Rus armed formation and was required to sign a three-year contract. He participated in combat operations against the militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) but surrendered after the onset of the special military operation.

The Judicial Board for Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) sentenced him to five years and six months of incarceration for his involvement in a terrorist organization. He is currently serving his sentence in a Russian prison.
